Football *Spoilers* 26/27/28 April

Don't be ridiculous, I dont really have an issue with the penalty that was given. But anyone that thinks that Ballack wasn't fouling Ronaldo by grapppling him, is clearly watching the wrong sport.

Ronaldo was grappling Ballack just as much and iirc there was a similar incident on Drogba just a few minutes later.

nah, Ronaldo had eyes for the ball and u could see him trying to get to it. Ballack had his back to it. Would have been a controversial penalty but it was one, especially if you rewind to utd/bolton last season where wiley gave one against vidic for ten times less.

No complaints about the actual penalty though. Silly.

No doubt Ballack was the first to start it but by the time the ball came into play Ronaldo was pulling at Ballack just as much to get past him.

It's something that happens countless times per game and like i said above there was a similar incident with Drogba just a few minutes later (Sylvestre?). If you start giving pens for incidents like this then you're going to be giving 5-6 pens per game. Imo you can only start giving pens when (like Carra did vs Everton) players literally chuck players to the ground.

Agreed, never a penalty. Both equally jostling for ground.

Man Utd were poor simple as, didn't deserve anything from the game. Plus when Carrick dives in the box hoping for a penalty then you really do see desperation.

If not referees biggest fans but today they got everything spot on.

Yea united were poor today, Carrick is a diving cheat. the man of the match today was essien i really like the way he defends and attacks. Jermain Pennant had a good game today a good finish by Crouch i hope chelsea win the PL

When you have players like Carrick and fletcher up against ballack and essien it is only going to go one way. Carrick is ok against average sides where he gets time on the ball but when space is a premium the guy goes missing and when he does get the ball he doesn't know what to do with it. Fletcher would struggle to get into a lot of premiership sides, he has ordinary written all over him.

Having essien back for the the liverpool game could make a big difference.

If Lampard plays then it's likely that Essien will play rb and tbh i haven't been that impressed with him there. If Babel plays he could get a lot of joy up against Essien.

to be fair I think Carrick was already in the air when the ball was kicked - therefore couldnt have gotten out of the way even if he wanted to - apart from the fact his arm was in exactly the same position when he jumped to when the ball hit
