Football *Spoilers* 26/27/28 April

Right, for the Main Event of the Weekend, the Mighty Villa at Everton - It's been a long time since we still had something to play for going into May (since 2000 tbh), and it feels good!.

It's amazing that Fergie, Quiroz and plenty of others are bemoaning the officials yesterday, we got 2 absolute shockers at OT earlier in the season (Mikel's sending off and Saha's outrageous dive for the penalty) and what goes around comes around as they say and to be fair the best team won yesterday just as the best team won at OT so deal with it.
That was one of Chelsea's best performances too yesterday and if we play like that on Wednesday I can't seen Liverpool being as resilient, it's a shame that the players seemed to need such a big game and the unfortunate death of Mrs Lampard to raise their game to where it should be.
I still can't see us nicking the PL (it would be hilarious if we did though) unless Man.U. crumble even more but at least the season is still alive:)

How can Mikel going in two footed be a "shocker" - he deserved the red (just like Ballack should have been shown two yellows yesterday, one for inciting the crowd and 2nd for removing his shirt, not to mention any grappling or anything)

Cant honestly remember Saha's dive to be fair

You deserved the penalty as much as we did for the trip on Carrick a little later - but they were "home" decisions no question

It seems no-one connected with Man.U. remembers Saha's dive, how convenient. Fergie also called it unbelievable that a game as big as that should be decided by a penalty, he didn't say the same after their win.
They're home decisions according to a few, just as the decisions we got at OT then, unlucky:)

I've not seen the telly coverage, I assume they didn't cover the clear Silvestre handball 5 mins earlier?
Saw it with my own eyes, it was right in front of me, we should have had a pen for that anyway.
We were the better side, Fergie got it all wrong, I'd be pretty embarrassed at getting outfoxed by Avram Grant if I were him.

The game at OT wasnt decided by a penalty, you lost 2-0, you were already a goal down, there wasnt long to go and you hadnt looked like scoring all game.

Yesterday we dealt with everything you did second half, looked just as good going forward and we were 1-1 and beaten by a nonsense penalty.

Thats the difference.

That Carrick incident in the Chelsea penalty box was no penalty. Not in my eyes. And it was a dive by Saha at Old Trafford but we were already winning 1-0 and the penalty was in the 90th minute IIRC not that that makes it alright. Chelsea deserved to win yesterday, no doubts about it. But we should have had a penalty because of Ballack who had no intentions of watching the corner or the ball, his eyes were fixed on Ronaldo the second he came on the pitch. Any update on what happened after the match?

I thought it was a nice tribute to Lampard's mum. :)

You cant really talk about anyone diving after Drogba yesterday

He threw his head back like he had been shot when he kneed Vidic in the face

I was shocked by Drogba yesterday, his gay spat with Ballack just reinforced what an utter **** he is

Were you watching the same game as me?!
We played you off the pitch, the only reason you scored was from a rare error by our player of the season, otherwise it would've been a fairly easy win.
Wigan put up a bigger scrap than your lot did.
In fact even your fans were rubbish and it's not often you can say that about Utd's away support.

Why is it that Utd never lose because the other team were better on the day?
There's always 'something' isn't there?

I really dont understand the penalty debate. I'm a Utd fan, but I'll be the first to admit it was a clear penalty.

He had plenty of time to move his hand, it was hardly a bullet cross

I'm not angry we lost, I was expecting it if I'm honest, I am just bricking it now, the fact we should have buried this title 2 weeks ago and now it's going to the wire. I'm a nervous wreck at the moment thinking about it. If we lose the title at this stage, it would be nothing short of humiliating

Props to Chelsea though for performing when it matters, we'll take your record next year though don't you worry

West Ham have been our bogey team lately, and I just pray we beat them now when it matters most. Hopefully Wigan will be safe or relegated by the time they get to us so they arent battling or they could cause us an upset too

COME ON UNITED

Drogba gets a fair bit of stick from the fans for his antics, rightfully so, but he stopped playing and made a big effort to get the refs attention when Vidic took that hit in the face. Don't give him stick for that, he behaved very sportingly in that instance.

The better team won yesterday, a lot of us here admit that. It was more a case of Ferguson shooting us in the foot than anything else. The second half we found a good time to probably go ahead after Rooney equalised, but then Anderson and Rooney went off injured and we went back to our first half performance. Overall it was a pretty shocking performance, and this title will be decided on goal difference.

Im giving him stick for the fact that as it all happened he threw his head back like he was kicked in the face, as he did numerous times in the first half

He wont be here next season, he burnt his Stamford Bridge's yesterday

Thats not even a fair representation of the match day, all you could hear were the united fans after the first 15 minutes.
It was like watching the cardboard cut outs of a pro evo game when the camera was on the chelsea fans.
