Forgot how bad job searching was :(

I struggled on a few questions like "What can you offer Asda as an employee?" or something along those lines. Overall I think I did ok though.

First 2 days done, first day was spent in meetings all day for a massive project, manager apologised for dropping me straight in it :p

Then had a bog standard company induction day along with about 50 other new starters today.

Tomorrow should be more like a usual first day :p

"The soul of my first-born child" - Works 90% of the time, all the time.

Would most certainly get a laugh or a gasp, all the time!

I have my 2nd (informal) interview tomorrow meeting the team at another office (Norwich) and a medical to check I can work offshore.

Was told on the phone to come casual but not in shorts and flip flops, but still going in trousers and a shirt with some shorts and a t-shirt should I need to do any jogging for the medical :p :p

Got offered the job today whilst having the informal interview chat.

Start on the 27th so need to move to Aberdeen in a week.

****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had my first interview out of 3 today for a data analyst job. Had to do a search engine test which was terribly easy, hopefully won't be too long until they get back to me about the 2nd test and the final interview. Only a 6 month contract but it'll be good to get some experience doing something like that and of course the money which is all I'm bothered about right now. :)

So I had a second interview yesterday and today I got a rejection email and I emailed back asking for feedback and got this:

If I am honest, the level of applicants was extremely high this time, many of them holding a Masters complemented with both client-facing experience as well as telephone experience. The candidate who has landed the role also already held posts within this particular industry so I wouldn’t be disheartened, you have a great first impression which is very important in the interview process.

It was great meeting you and I wish you every success.

I was applying for a internship aimed at (I thought) people still at uni! I wasn't expecting to be up against post graduates lol!

That's unfortunate :( But that's the way it is right now sadly!

One in Peterborough. I start tomorrow for a two day induction :)

Did you have to fill out your application online? i did mine the other day and at the assessment part i just had a white screen shown with nothing on it. tried to refresh and it closed the whole application down with all the info i had entered....

went back on the website today and it said i had still to sit the assessment. i sat it and now under the job submission link it says "assessments to be completed" even though i completed it....

so now i don't know if its even registered and sent my application to them or if its just displaying incorrectly?

Yes I did it all online. Didn't have any problems with it though. It's worth giving them a call to see if they got any information though from it or not.

Just got back from my first day, went fairly well, pretty boring stuff really but it has to be done!

Another week another waste of time signing on at the jobcenter.

contacted them last week regarding training and what sort of scope i have as far as costs being paid or loans for training.
after about 20 mintues of hmming and arring from the guy at the jobcenter i get told "ask when you sign on next week they will be able to tell you".

skip forward to today and the ooooh so helpfull advisor didnt have a clue but gave me the normal speech "ask next time you sign on".

and the best thing the whole signing on apointment lasted less than 5 mintues. it was litrally, "sign this, you will get your money for friday, goodbye".

guess il ask in two weeks time and if i get the same answer im going to ask for there manager as iv had it with these tools.

The job centre runs on wasting your time.

Honestly sometimes I wish you could just e-mail your job search in so you don't have to waste £3 in bus fare and an hour of your time travelling in.

It is pretty flawed...You end up spending money on petrol or bus fares...When you need the money!!! Its daft
