you can just buy 1 month of game pass and play this new one, or buy a cdkey for forza motorsport 7 but the cheapest place seems to be £15, I don't think any of the normal etailers have it listed for sale any more, because MS lost a bunch of the licenses or they expired.I've never played a Forza game, are any of the older ones worth picking up on the cheap?
Thanks for the tip. Had to go looking for the right file to edit. I've done similar updates to the cube maps and shadow sizes. Along with using some very basic reshade settings (mainly to sharpen slightly and remove the green filter), I'm pretty happy with the results.I tried editing the games file for the graphics settings, Im not convinced it worked but it turned the game into a crash fest in the options menus so maybe it did.
Basically changed the npc liveries from 1024>4096 the same as the player car and then doubled/tripled all the shadow sizes, cube maps, window reflections etc and changed the max hi res shadows from 16>32
Then turned on GTAO under raytracing.
I should probably take some comparrison shots with GTAO off/on to see if it even does anything and see if that setting is what causes the crashes but I don't have time right now.
No crashes during a race though if I could get into one,

the forza horizon open world games are probably on gamepass too and if you buy gamepass the normal way its about £9
Regarding the track going black I had the same issue on my old 500gb Evo Sata SSD. I transfered the game to my 2tb SN770 nvme and the track is completely fixed after 3 hours of gaming.
Yeah seems pretty stupid, but sticking it on my brand new nvme has 100% fixed it for me. Not sure if your 970 is faster, if not then I am guessing the issue is the way they are loading the tracks and the extra read speed is brute fixing it. If the 970 is faster then no idea. Be interesting to see what others are using who get no black tracks.I'm running it on a 970 pro nvme and I get the black track thing.
I refuse to accept that a 970 pro nvme is the cause of a racing game not rendering an average looking track. Games could render tracks in racing games just fine on HDDs for years..

All I know is that mine is fine now, I had black tracks on every race before as well.
