Forza Motorsport (10/10/23)

What a disappointing game, after all this time I was expecting them to have nailed it.

Unfortunately not, terrible career mode, very buggy, AI is as bad as ever, engine sounds are way off etc. Not really anything good to say about it other that the multiplayer implementation is a bit better.

I think the solution to the disappearing track textures is to enable unlocked (v-sync) in graphic settings, not had a problem since doing that... strange? Turn10 has had 6 years to get things right, what have they been doing to allow this game to release in this state?

I have noticed if you get low or stuttering FPS\gameplay just restart the game, I have had a few times where I haven't changed anything and it has been working fine, load up and performance has tanked to low 40fps, restart the game and back to 85-100 fps.

Waited patiently for this to unlock today. I was pretty apprehensive after the reviews but I'm actually getting on with the progression system pretty well. The quick upgrade being optional (compared to 7) is a good change especially as the one time I've been forced to use it, it applied crap upgrades.

The one thing putting me off at the moment weirdly is the TAA. I'm watching the aerial on my Focus RS flap about leaving a trail of blur. Cars I'm the distance are just smudges. This is without FSR or motion blur. Forza 7 looks much "cleaner" my comparison.

Game is ok, runs well on my rig but as someone who is more into simracing it wont keep me interested longterm.
Thats not a negative at all just its not like PC sims but itsnt trying to be, the physics and gameplay are perfect for its target audience.
Only real negative technicaly is im getting cracking sound all the time with both speakers and headset.
Looks great plays well for what it is.

It took a lot of fiddling but I've finally got it in a bit of a sweet spot and have been able to just get on with enjoying it. Lets not beat around the bush though, whilst I'm enjoying it for the most part, its not mindblowing or gamechanging by any means, it needs work. A lot of the points for improvement have already been discussed here so I wont go back over that.
I dont see this being a daily driver for me in the long term. I'll probably play through the career for the next few weeks then wait for more content to be released.

Just fired it up had a quick blast, performance seems horrendous on the introduction circuit, mapple Valley I think it is. Just whacked everything to ultra, full RT, but frames jumps all over the place, at times dropping down to 45fps is. This is only at 2560x1440p too...surely a 3090 and a 5950x should slaughter it at 1440p.

And how many more years do T10 have to overlook proper triple screen? I'm a big sim racer, understand this is a casual arcade game but come the F on, it's 2023.

As has already been covered in this thread, if you make any changes to graphics you will need to restart the game for things to settle otherwise you will have horrendous performance. Shouldnt have to mind, pretty shocking that were in 23 and still need to mess about like that. It is very much not a great out the box experience.

2080ti be enough to run it ?
Yes plenty, you'll likely have to tweak some graphics settings down, but should run it comfortably.
