Forza Motorsport (10/10/23)

As has already been covered in this thread, if you make any changes to graphics you will need to restart the game for things to settle otherwise you will have horrendous performance. Shouldnt have to mind, pretty shocking that were in 23 and still need to mess about like that. It is very much not a great out the box experience.

Yes plenty, you'll likely have to tweak some graphics settings down, but should run it comfortably.

I'm doing that, still not getting great prrformance turning a few things down, which i shouldnt habe to on a 3090 surely.

And annoyingly, there's no option to exit the introduction race, you have to alt f4 it lol.

Just fired it up had a quick blast, performance seems horrendous on the introduction circuit, mapple Valley I think it is. Just whacked everything to ultra, full RT, but frames jumps all over the place, at times dropping down to 45fps is. This is only at 2560x1440p too...surely a 3090 and a 5950x should slaughter it at 1440p.

And how many more years do T10 have to overlook proper triple screen? I'm a big sim racer, understand this is a casual arcade game but come the F on, it's 2023.

Are you using DLSS?

Yes, started with quality, then tried balanced, no difference between them.

When running the benchmark it looks fine, but the actual in game performance is dog turd for me, I've no idea why.

Using the latest studio driver, even did a fresh install but still the same. I usually run ACC at 7680x1440p on my triples with the same rig and get around 90fps so no idea why on single 2560x1440 the stutters and drops or off the chart.

Im on older drivers and had the same, it's a game issue, close and re-open and it's back to normal. Very weird
Sadly this isn't fixing things for me. Had pretty solid performance all day, but this evening it's been dropping and lagging all over the place. Game and PC restarts have not helped.

Just tried a bit this evening.

I'm really lost with gaming at the moment. What does this do that has not been done countless times before (and often better)?

This took ages to develop/come out and it is massively "meh".

Even the graphics are extremely average by today's standards.

Seems a bit buggy as well.

Even the music is crap.

i dont understand how you can have a team take 6 years to create.....basically the same uninspired car game we've seen a million times before.

I don't own it, because it sounded like a bit of lemon, but the music... :D I don't know what they were thinking with that one! Easily some of the worst music of any racing game.
It's another game that will probably be good by the time they abandon it in a year or so, but seems like such a half effort as it is right now (from the reviews I've watched).

The AAA game industry really has so little invention and imagination now.

This game genuinely feels like it was made by AI (maybe it was!!)

Based on the reviews I've seen it looks like my concerns about this being 'Game Passified' were justified - you have to level individual cars in order to customize them and they go up to level 50

They don't want you to have 'fun' - they just want you to keep grinding away and subscribing to Game Pass.

I gave this a quick go last night on my PC (5700x + 6700XT). I tried it on Low, Medium and High settings - with framerate unlocked, but everything else auto - and restarted after each change, and every benchmark I ran just sat there at 74-75 FPS.

But then I also got a warning message about incompatible drivers when starting the game, even though Id only installed the card with fresh drivers on Sunday and had no issues in other games.
