When I was a kid, a good day out was pack up the motor with a picnic and set off early just driving. The destination was not important, the journey was as we three kids in the back played, looked out of the windows. Dad smoking a cigar would wind his down to rest his elbow outside,Filled up momentum 99 at 1.779 two days ago. Now it’s at 1.869. Good times.
Long ago really. Smoking with kids in the car is illegal now as well.Historic times, the scenic run out may be dead.

Putting lots of miles on the car until we found a nice spot with a view to spread the tablecloth. Later as it was getting dark and we had burnt a good three quarters of a tank of fuel we arrived home. Dad said I will have to fill up again tomorrow, I don't know where all the petrol goes.

I was quite happy to pay 'only' 182.7 last night. What a world. I doubt it will ever drop much in future, no matter what happens in the world. Like energy prices this is the new normal. Those of you quoting blower diesel prices, is that wha thou are actually buying or are you just picking that one because it’s the most expensive?
If you are buying it….
1. What panic buying. This panic buying of fuel is to push up EV sales.
Once we are all on electric, it will be the same scenario I presume, sky rocketing prices to charge your vehicle, how much is it currently?I meant to add - I had a quick look at electric cars within 100 miles of me for sale to see if switching to electric is viable (given some people think "well if you don't want to pay so much for fuel, you should go electric")
The cheapest is a Renault Zoe/Nissan Leaf, around 7 years old - £7,500.
There is no way the poorer section of society can afford that even if they could get a loan
1. What panic buying.
2. The EVs that generally have long waiting lists due to component shortages and supply chain issues?
