Fuel up/down again

One interesting statistic I heard from someone in the industry, BP etal make more money per litre on the Coffee in the petrol stations than the petrol!

Yet joe public blames the oil companies for the prices not the government...

This is because the vast majority are very uneducated on the various costs that make up the price of a litre of petrol, every time the price increases they see it as the oil companys (who post mammoth profits year by year) who are to blame.

Very few people realise that a huge proportion of the cost of fuel is tax/fuel duty.

US Crude oil contracts rose 5 dollars to 95 today

It did? When?

It's currently $86, touched near 90 earlier but...?

Brent is indeed considerably more expensive at the moment due to oversupply at Cushing.

Edit: Holy ****, I was looking at spot. We are doomed

From Neil's post for those that CBA clicking:

Tesco garage petrol sign targeted by pranksters

Tesco said it changed the sign as soon as the prank was spotted
Eagle-eyed motorists were in for a surprise when pranksters tampered with a petrol station price sign.

The unleaded petrol price was changed to 25.9 pence per litre and the letters LOL - which normally stand for Laugh Out Loud - were written below it.
