This is because the vast majority are very uneducated on the various costs that make up the price of a litre of petrol, every time the price increases they see it as the oil companys (who post mammoth profits year by year) who are to blame.

Very few people realise that a huge proportion of the cost of fuel is tax/fuel duty.

It's currently $86, touched near 90 earlier but...?

Brent is indeed considerably more expensive at the moment due to oversupply at Cushing.

Edit: Holy ****, I was looking at spot. We are doomed :eek:

Eagle-eyed motorists were in for a surprise when pranksters tampered with a petrol station price sign.

The unleaded petrol price was changed to 25.9 pence per litre and the letters LOL - which normally stand for Laugh Out Loud - were written below it.

I used it when I went south. Don't see the need to put it in for daily driving as I don't have a performance car, so will not really benefit from it.

The car does seem a bit more responsive when using it, but at that price there is no point. So normal Shell fuelsaver for me. :)
 
Thank goodness for my 5 min walk to work!! Only using my car for pleasure so not too fussed about the rising fuel costs! Hardly spend £30 a week.
 
5p a litre extra duty takes the **** a bit doesn't it. Fuel prices are already higher and that isn't going to help anything!
