Fuel up/down again

Labour im afraid cannot make any arguments whatsoever on the economy. 80% of whats happening with cuts and tax increases is a direct result of them and their reckless spending / borrowing culture.

I think its a little bit too late for them to try win back drivers, they cared not when it came to clawing back any loss on fuel when VAT dropped by increasing duty. They were not overly bothered with the retrospective V.E.D increases that punished thousands of car owners who suddenly found themselves forking out more in road tax. I thought it was hilarious when MP's were up in arms about the retrospective changes to expenses and how unfair that would be.

I personally think that in an effort to encourage the reduced CO2 emissions and increased economy offered by diesel, the government should remove the duty on the fuel.

I would love for the duty to be removed on fuel - but I fear that the Government have got used to this 'Income' (which I firmly believe is completely wrong and shouldn't have been actioned in the first place) and even depend on it.

It angers me greatly that we have to foot this bill as Motorists, who depend on our Cars to get to work, do our Food Shopping etc. because the Public Transport isn't good enough.

Would rather they ditched half the tax/duty on fuel and slapped it on booze, they still get money, we get cheaper fuel. :)

I propose a "moron tax" to replace fuel duty.

The sale of any iphone, overpriced clothing brand, ringtone, chart mp3 download, or handbag-sized chi hua hua will have a 60% duty on it.

Also all premier league footballers, reality TV stars and popstars who cannot demonstrate competence with at least one instrument will pay 90% tax.

The proceeds will go ostensibly to "saving the planet, bla bla, etc. etc."

Should I propose this to the government right now, or later?
