Fuel up/down again

^^ What TW Fox said...as soon as Oil was made a Commodity, before my time (I was a 1985 Baby) it is open to speculation and the 'People' in the Middle are the controlling parties..which means bad news for us (as well as the Duty of course).

Paid £1.37 for diesel.

1p off duty? pah, they can shove that, more protests to come I say, getting to the point now where I am having to make huge cuts in my live just to get to work, we are in a work but have no fun nation for some of us.

Depends what you mean by retailers, but when I worked in a Texaco franchise we bought fuel at approx 1-2p a litre less than we sold it for.

Why don't Texaco buy fuel from Shell forecourts then?

Every Texaco in Plymouth is 5p a litre more than everyone else. They need a new wholesale deal! Might as well send the tanker to Sainsburys :D

We've just spent a week in Northumberland and it's not cheap up there. The little rural garage in Bellingham was £1.49 for tractor juice. Mind you, came down the M6 tonight I have think Charnock Richard services was wanting around £1.44 (derv).

You will find that services are cheaper as there is more volume of cars coming through, rural stations are obviously needing money, luckily I live 5 mins from magor services in south Wales @1.37 diesel

You have to be joking, right? With a few curious exceptions there is almost nowhere more expensive to fill up with fuel than a Motorway sevice station in the UK.

Most are well into the 140's for unleaded petrol now.

Must just be the few services in our area then, either way I refuse to pay what one garage was charging @ 146 which is a small garage 2 mins from my house

I've always been quite principled with fuel - in 10 years of driving I've managed to never, ever fill up a Motorway filling station simply because I disagree with the prices they charge.

It doesnt seem that way in other countries - service areas in the USA and Australia are no more expensive than the inner city filling stations. Heck, they dont even rip you off on food and drink either.

It seems to be a very British thing to have Motorway Service Areas that charge massively more for everything than everyone else does.
