Put it simple without getting my self into trouble, you name me a game that has trouble being pirated and i'll tell you its the person using the pirate software.
And without getting myself into trouble (I hope), I agree.

Problem between user and keyboard. :p

If a cracked version for the PC comes out, would it be illegal for me to use the crack on my bought copy (hopefully pre order arrives tomorrow) in order to avoid using up one of my two installations?
I only have 1 pc so I won't be breaking the rules on how many installations I'm allowed, I'm just worried if my hard drive crashes or something that will be an installation gone forever.

dn't believe it , sorry BS
Eh?
Don't believe about there only being 2 installs allowed? Devs from 2K have discussed the issue and confirmed that it exists.

Or do you mean something else?

MMOs?

Play your games on any PC: Once you have a Steam account, you can sign in from any PC and access your games. Your games are associated with your account, not your computer.

Steam should change there website asap

I didnt just prove his point at all.

What exactly do you want them to do...put their game out there with no protection only to find within minutes iso files are popping up all over the net and thousands and thousands of sales are lost?!

You must be mental.

They SHOULD be making it as difficult and awkward for pirates to steal their work, so bloody what if that means we have to click a few buttons to activate the game.

Protection doesn't stop pirates,only ****** people off.

I have brought bioshock because of system shock 1 and 2 which i loved.
just noticed i clicked the wrong mail option 3 to 5 days hope it is here before saturday

Is copy protection a not allowed discussion now then? I'm not being cheeky, I just want to know so that I don't get suspended or anything if I get involved in further discussion about it. Probably best to ammend the FAQ too as this topic does come up fairly often and what's in the FAQ doesn't cover it.

Basically just don't talk about certain games and methods of pirating/cracking.

Saying "most games are pirated nowadays" is fine. Saying "*Game X* has been pirated already" is not really on.

I understand what you mean now, roger wilco. :)

Basically avoid anything that's a "fact" then, like names of available pirate games and where/how to get them, things like that? I had a feeling that was the case anyway so I'd avoided specific words like "torrents".

I'm guessing that actually discussing the pros and cons of copy protection as a broad definition is still ok?
