Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon

Yep. Earlier in the episode she is complaining that she does not want to die a slob. She knew it was over for her, so went out the way she wanted.
and obviously the earlier dragon training scenes with the kids was to highlight that the dragons will take any commands once paired.

Is a Dragon rider's death commiting suicide by asking it to torch you ?:p

There just wasn't enough character development for her to go from strong, ambitious mother of two, to suddenly committing suicide.

Most of what the characters do in this show is just weird in my opinion.

In relation to the ‘suicide’:

My take was that she was going to die anyway due to trauma and that the baby may have already been dead. They couldn’t get the baby out without killing her, whether it was dead or alive. Hubby wasn’t that fussed about the kid (bored with the current ones) and also indifferent to his wife.

So faced with death one way or another, she wanted to go out as she intended - in flames.

She was dead anyway...she wanted to go out on her own terms.
I have no idea why your finding it weird when the show couldn't have been more obvious on the setup for it.

Slightly conflicted by this episode, we knew they would jump forward so it makes sense to change the actresses, one was convincing, but the other two weren't imo.. Good episode though..

Also, Daemon was made out to be this dastardly, devious and ambitious character in all of the episodes before the last one, but then suddenly he is family man and just wants to settle down with a nice amount of gold.
Seems the opposite of his sister who he corrupted in a single moment that makes no sense

Daemon was seemingly obsessed with reading historical accounts in the library - might amount to something…? Not sure.

If anything it didn’t seem like he was a family man at all. He just ignores his kids and remains self-obsessed/introverted.

What I’m getting at is… regardless of whether that ‘library’ comes to anything, I didn’t find his character to have ‘dramatically changed’ in this episode.

Could very well be one of the best episodes yet imo.

Was worried about the new actresses and didn't need to be at all, they picked up straight on point.

Some bits were good but for the first episode ever I thought it dragged and just didnt hold my attention like previous episodes. Maybe it as all the actor changes.

I thought it was implied the baby was already dead - the trauma of that combined with the mother knowing she'd die when they cut out her dead baby meant she decided to go out on her terms.

I did think for a moment the dragon was going to be like 'no mate'

My other half was convinced the dragon had spoken the word "no" just before he/she blasted her!

I'm really enjoying it. First episode definitely didn't have the "hook" so had it not been GOT probably wouldn't have continued but all other episodes have left me happy and not desperately picking holes in the plot or wanting to kick the TV for someone doing something totally out of kilter with the character like when Pauline Fowler lost the plot in Eastenders before she died many moons ago. I no longer watch EastEnders :o

Meh nothing happened in ten years.
Changing actors had to happen but it felt harsh after the previous 5 eps.

The king is the only likeable character and barely. Everyone else just seems to be hanging at each others throats waiting for a nod from a director

So are we no going to be in the future as the present, and will this happen again. Otherwise going back is pointless as there can be no suspense on the outcome of a character.

Trying to relearn a whole new set of characters for ones you just started to like. Meh. Seems like the end series of GoT. Rushed, for no compelling reason.

Who else thought that the king was gonna be dead in this episode, but seemed healthier than he had in a while lol

Not been more shocked than when Deardry lost her Turkish husband/Fianmcee to knife crime

Did you enjoy the subverted expectations?

Except for he has lost an arm!!!!!!

The King has greyscale right, I haven't mis-assumed this? Coming on at a slower rate than in main GOT series but that's what i'd gathered from the first episode and the cut he gets from a sword on the throne? Then seeing the sores on his back.

He has a form of Leprosy, Paddy announced it several weeks ago.
