Games you're playing, and games...

I never made it past more than a handful of hours of either Spiderman 1 or GOT. Visually impressive but all very same same once you master the mechanics although the web slinging was super cool and something new. Both game loops felt very much like a standard Ubisoft blockbuster release. AC, FC, GR. Essentially all the same thing, just with a different skin.

Yup, but many people still insist GoT does something more than AC or is somehow much better in terms of the open world when it's equally creatively bankrupt and TBH, even AC Origins kills it when it comes to variety and side stuff.

Agree on the web swinging in Spidey, kept me going.

Yeah, my friend and I also felt like it took you away from feeling like an amazing sniper a bit too often by forcing you to get up close and engage in stealth tactics instead. Some of the levels were excellent and we still enjoyed it but SE4 was probably the best of the lot in terms of the actual sniping element.

Spot on and five levels in, it’s definitely become more like Splinter Cell! Especially with the Focus ability. But I’m really enjoying it. I think it would be hard to go back to SE4.

Did two levels yesterday, spent about 2 and a half hours on level 5!

I picked up Last Faith the new metroidvania/soulslike. The combat seems decent but I'm not a fan of the healing system (they are item based like Bloodborne- so if you die too many times to a boss you have to farm for more).

Started House of Ashes, very good start. I find with these games, you have to bond with a particular character almost immediately for the game to be worth playing. Then you just hope they are not one of the first ones to meet the chop.

That's part of the Dark Pictures series? I've got the first two in that series but never managed to get around to playing them - maybe that's something to aim for over Christmas! Are they best played in release order, or does it not matter too much?

Yes, third one in Dark Pictures. I don’t think there’s any link at all (other than the curator but he doesn’t reference things in other games) so you can do them in any order.

Looks like it’s Uncharted marathon time. Certainly the original trilogy back to back and then maybe a break. Using a guide to collect all the treasure on these playthroughs.

Currently playing McPixel 3 on the Switch, i'm loving just the sheer stupidity of the whole thing.
I started it initially on the xbox for achievement farming daily reward points but found I wanted to actually just play the game properly instead of getting an achievement and closing the game so I double dipped and got it on the switch :)

Doing a full run through of Cyberpunk 2077 with Phantom Liberty DLC. Game is a huge improvement compared to launch ( on both PC and console ). Also playing Super Mario RPG on the side but don't think it'll take long to finish as it's quite easy.

Might be worth opting in to the Quidco £20 bonus for £100+ spend at Argos today, throwing a few console games/accessories in the basket.

Read Dead Redemption as it was 20% off on PSN. The addition of the patched 60fps on PS5 made me pull the trigger. It’s one of my best single player experiences and it seems like an age since I played it on the 360. Looking forward to spending a lot of time with it. It looks amazing on my TV as well.

Currently playing Dying Light 2 on my new Xbox Series X.

Enjoying it immensely, it’s a nice peaceful escape :D
I picked that up for PS5 and not liking it, not a patch on the first game - but for 15 quid I might see how it goes.

They didn’t help themselves with just how good the 1st game really was, agreed.

I’m not too far into it, but so far so good.

I was able to add it on for free which is a bonus.
