GE66 Raider

Just had a quick go on cyberpunk, everything on high/ultra, ray tracing ultra, and dlss quality its sitting around 58-62 most of the time using geforce experience overlay, occasionally dropped to 48 but very rarely but seems very smooth and playable, also its a lot quieter and cooler than when playing warzone
That’s a nice result.
Which GPU did you choose?

I have the 115+15w 3070 (afaik)

Hey Bradmax, did you get the model number 10ug-075uk or the 10ug-003uk for the GE66? Also what does it say for Maximum Graphics Power in system information in the NVIDIA control panel system information?

Just I saw it posted in a couple of places that the 10ug-003uk which comes with the i7-10870H, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, only has a max-q variant of the 3070. Would be great if you could let me know as that's the one I have on order.

Thanks!

mines the 10UG-003uk 1tb and 32gb ram but when using hardware info it reports 133w on gpu which would suggest its not actually the max q, but I think i read somewhere saying that all the GE66'ss have the more powerful variant?

Thanks, and all the reviews I've seen to date of the GE66 says it has the full powered 3070 too, just I saw this earlier today posted on reddit about 3 weeks ago which got me panicking. I don't suppose if you have a moment you could check it quickly in Nvidia control panel system info could you?

I've also just picked up a cheap quest 2 today so will be able to give that a go tomorrow when my 10ft cable arrives looking forward to trying fs2020

It doesnt show since updating the graphics driver unfortunately, not sure if I can roll back just the driver?

I think driver 457.63 would show it?

If you don't want to go to that effort, was the 130W from HWiNFO64 just an isolated event or does it show it as pulling 120-130W for extended periods during games/benchmarks.

Thanks for your quick replies btw!

P.S You'll love the Quest 2 and good idea getting a good quality USB cable for Oculus Link, it's a must :)

Yeah i've had a quest 2 before, and the cable I previously had was perfect, cant seem to find a laptop version of 457.63 anywhere, the one on msi website is 457.74, i'll give that a go but I was a sustained level playing modern warfare for the best part of an hour or so

Well that's reassuring to know, I noticed earlier in the thread that you said your 3070 went up to around 1900GHz as well, a Max-Q wouldn't get near that I believe.

Not had a proper look around bios but will do soon as if it has the option to build a raid array i'll get another 2tb and make a 4tb raid 0 setup :)

Happy to help, anything else let me know although as i'm not going to be up that much later it may not be such a quick response haha
