Geforce 301.24-beta (GTX480/570/580 Series now get FXAA + Adaptive Vsync)

Shogun 2 has horrible GPU usage on the GTX 680... and like down to 35 fps in some places. With MSAA it's like treacle :(

I get really disappointing results with my 680 @1080p Very High on Shogun 2. It seems to run really well in the benchmark reviews for the 680 though....

Also, if I want Adaptive V-sync to work, do I need to disable it in-game? Also, to clarify; if I enable FXAA in the control panel, can I just disable all in game FXAA or do I have to set the FXAA to override the application settings?

Adaptive vsync doesn't work at 120hz for me. It works like its set at the half refresh rate option. Disabled and disconnected my other monitor also and it still won't do 120hz adaptive in most games.

I did run heaven again with the new driver, but I didn't notice any difference. Only played BF3 and game runs sweet with no probs, except I still keep getting killed a lot :(

What's the point in using Vsync at this refresh rate?

Because I get tearing at over 200fps in games like arkham city, sonic generations, BFBC2 and world of warcraft to name a few...

Also, some games run at daft speeds in game menu's without vsync on, like crysis 2 for example which runs at just under 4000 fps in the menu on my system. Rather not burn my gpus out so vsync serves more purpose than the obvious.

Might be better off using MSI's FPS limiter until this gets fixed then. Im in the same boat as you in terms of 120hz too.

How did you test it, enable the Adaptive Vsync and show FPS using MSI?

Adaptive Vsync in Nvidia Inspector and Vsync on in game.

Personal preference, I don't like blur of any kind.

whats the point of leaving vsync on in BF3 if your going to use adaptive in teh control panel?

i have it off in BF3 and adaptive in the control panel and fps stays at 60 according to afterburner.

Just tried it out on single GTX470, not sure if it's working as it didn't feel any different and MSI onscreen data seemed like it normally does?

NVIDIA Inspector settings

Under the Battlefield 3 profile the only things I have changed are;

Toggle FXAA on or off - Enabled
Vertical Sync Tear control - Adaptive

Not sure about the following options? Should the option

NVIDIA Predefined FXAA Useage be - Disallowed or Allowed and,
Vertical Sync - Use the 3D application settings?

In game settings,

VSYNC - ON

AA Deferred - 2xMSAA
AA POST - OFF
MOTION BLUR - OFF
ANISOTROPIC FILTER - 4X
AMBIENT OCCLUSION - OFF

yes exactly what I've done forced on in nvidia control panel (set to adaptive) and OFF in game and it sticks to 60fps

It's simple, if I set the vsync to adaptive from standard in Nvidia Inspector tool, I can turn on and off vsync from the game whenever I want, without closing the game.

Couldn't do that with vsync forced on in Control Panel or Nvidia Inspector.
