Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

The 780 is still not massively faster than a year old 680. What, about 25% faster? For an extra £200? Hilarious.

I'll wait for deals on the older cards like I did when I bagged my 480 for £180 after the 580's came out :)

I can remember when they used to release a new top end card each year which was the same price as the previous years top end card but with 20-50% better performance (4870 > 5870, 8800GTX etc)....

Now Nvidia just release another card which is the same performance at the same price (GTX680 > 770) and then charge more for the top end card. I think if Nvidia keep screwing over their customers like this and AMD continues to improve and offer prices and game bundles then Nvidia are going to be in trouble.... Although I guess they can just lower the prices whenever they want...

This is my problem, I usually always go for the model under the premium card, but this time around your screwed if you do that because your really not gaining much in terms of performance upgrading from a 670 to a 770, so your kinda forced to upgrade to a 780 if your in need of a performance jump which is an extra £200-£250, the 780 imo is what the 770 should be.

I'm not happy with nivida this time around what with the titan con job, we all knew it was a scam to bulk up the price of the 780 on release, and at only 27% performance gains over the 680, ridiculous.

I wanted my decent 'price to performance' upgrade (which would have been the 770) but nivida have moved the goal posts.

Nope, Nvidia can sell what they like at what price they like.

The 780 does look like a nice card... The heatsink and build quality etc. Although it does not really justify a 75% price increase over a 7970. I think the 780 will probably pull further ahead of the 680 in future games and driver releases as well because on paper it is a lot better than the 680.

I think I'll wait till early June and Computex - Asus is supposed to reveal its redesigned cooler for GTX 780, and also new Evga should be out. Reviews of Gigabyte version show that it's capable of beating Titan ^^
