Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

Have not really stressed it as far as benchmarks go but have just gotten a 3 way dell p2412h setup and Bioshock plays eye poppingly well really happy with it .... guess a few benches wouldn't harm it mmmm :)

How much power does QSLi pull?

Last time I measured with a very overclocked 3960x @4.9ghz and two GTX 690s oced in 3dmark11 I managed 1032 watts at the wall. If I had been running 3dmark vantage it would probably have been about another 40 or so watts higher.

Definitely would require a new PSU then.. Currently using a Corsair AX860 and have a spare OCZ ZX 1000 that whines.

@1080p or 1200p one GTX 690 is plenty if you use two at those resolutions you get bottlenecks. Two GTX 690s are almost the same power as 3 Titans.

In 3dmark11 I can score nearly 39000 for graphics on my GTX 690s, using 3 Titans on a faster CPU I can score 44500 for graphics.

This is true.
However, i've been eyeing up 30" screens of late.... Seeing if i can get one in the shopping basket when we move into our new house. Not sure if i'll get away with it though :p

Paint, Laminate Flooring, Sofas, Dell U3014, Dining Table, Bed....

So a quick question for all you shiney new gtx 780 owners. what's the difference between defferent manufacturers cards is it just the clock speeds or are there any other enhancements? I'm going to bite the bullet next week but just doing a bit of research.

Basically none, but there is an EVGA card already out with their own fan and another that is pre-oc'd with the ref cooler but you can save money from that and just o/c any other 780 yourself to match it, so basically just buy the brand you like or who ever has the best warranty, I went with Zotac for the 5 years.

Can a GTX780 owner please run 3dmark11 performance test for me at stock and post a link (can't find anything on 3dm HOF or hwbot).

Want to calculate what clocks speeds other cards need to match its stock perf :)

I have found speculated $449 price tags for the 770, so call that £300+20% = £360. The 780 is $650 so is £516 after VAT but we know they are £550 which is £30-40 on top of VAT. Assuming the same happens with the 770 then expect prices of £390 to £400 minimum.

If I'm not mistaken the 680 released around the £400 mark too, and from the leaked benchmark I posted above the 770 is a 10% increase.

770 needs to be sub 680 pricing to not be completely pointless.

10% quicker or not, you'd easily make that up on a 680.

As mentioned earlier, with promos you're looking sub £330 for a reference GTX680, so that is the price it needs to be aimed at regardless of the 780's price.

^rumours suggest the 760Ti will at the very least rival the 7950 on all fronts, with ~670 performance with price estimates in the $300 region.

What are AMD going to reply

Its doubtful they can really, their new architecture isn't ready yet and they can't really release boosted versions of the 7970/7950 because they did that already when the GTX680 and GTX660Ti launched (7970GE and 7950B).

The only surprise I could see coming is if AMD or one of their 3rd party manufacturers drop a HD7950-X2, that would shake things up big time.
