Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

You mean starting the trend of charging a hefty premium for their high end card when the other company has no competition at that level? Then I think you will find that Nvidia started that trend.

+1

And now they are looking to charge £600 odd for the next high end gpu... We can all see where this is going

XFX are made by seasonic

And Nokian tyres are made by Bridgestone, never really understood the mentality that X PSU is made by Y manufacturer so must be as good as Y's own stuff...

-------------------------

Sorry if this has already been answered, but as the GTX760ti and GTX770 are apparently based on the GTX670 and GTX680 is the any word on if they will SLi with their older brethren like in previous re-badging's? (I.E GTS250 & 9800GTX+).

Quick question, i know we can't be certain when the 700 series is released, but i want a dual GPU card (690), now that was released a month after the 680 was released. Should i expect the 790 to be released roughly the same amount of time after the 780?

(I only have one GPU slot m-itx in a prodigy)

I agree the price of the titan is dumb, but you can kind of see the justification of it, nothing even remotely comes close to it. Also its not the usual card range, it's something above that. It would be a sad day in the gpu world when they try price other cards using titan as a marker. If they do go full retard, I really can see AMD launching something that would make a fool of nvidias current line up in price and perf. Might be the kick back to reality nvidia need.

So do we reckon we might get a Gibbo ;) today?

Could be, but this time it's hard to get excited assuming those prices for the 780 are accurate. I am however interested in whether the likes of MSI will release a lighting version with the voltage unlocked. Hopefully the 770/780 are great clockers.

The thing is Gibbo himself said no-one knows the final price till just before launch, and further to that prices can change until right before launch time. So all the stuff we have seen is pure speculation.

I cannot see how even NV will take their nominal top card (Titan excluding) with only 3GB from £4XX at Launch (for previous versions) to £6XX in one year!

IMO the rise £4XX for 680 to £5XX for 780 is what we will see. I am hoping for a launch day special at £499.95 so NV can "say" the price is in the same bracket. BUT i reckon the availability will be low and all special / oc models will be over £500. Also prices will likely rise after launch (as per titan).

Just my view you understand. As others have stated ~50% price inflation in 12 months is utterly un-sustainable.

If reviews are good i'll be going for a <£500 780, but if its over £500?

At those prices, I know my next card won't be from the green team.

You'd think after not wanting to lose any more ground to AMD after their free games promo, that pricing would be competitive & enticing to customers.

Anything over £450 & I'm out. Not worth it.

I'm afraid i'll be doing the same. Won't be a "Green" for much longer at these prices!
