Nvidia are fairly consistent with pricing on x80 cards.
We do know NVIDIA has wanted to push up towards the $1000 graphics card segment for a while. Offering the top of the line for what almost amounts to a performance tax
So often our job is about balance and temperance.
But not this time: The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra is an utter waste of money.
Thats x800 not x80. iirc 480, 580 & 680 pricing has been fairly consistent, so we can, at least, hope Nvidia don't go full retard.
Yeah prices being leaked now, not looking good for us in the UK. I would say £500 will be the absolute minimum we will see 780's priced at, that might be being optimistic aswell.. Pair of 760 ti's is the way forward for moi..

Oh na I was trying to show that Nvidia have been trying to push prices up in the past but AMD would counter and keep the prices low. This time Nvidia know AMD have their hands tied with other projects and have got a bit of time with no competition. Let the fleecing commence !!
Actually wander if AMD will drop 7XXX prices to counter?

they pay Vat in euroupe (~18-23%) and it looks like thats already been added as it says "your price", so ~£475 + hike
That price I showed was in dollars bud, as in not part of Europe..
Ah I'm with you now.
The only price drop I could see would be a few quid off the 7950, the 760ti looks set to come in around that price with ~670 perf. So AMD might want to spoil that party too.
All this talk of astronomical pricing could cause all sorts of problems for nvidia, especially if the rumors of AMD releasing a 20nm part later this year are to be believed.
Looks like i will be sticking with AMD again this time round for my new build.
Considering AMD started this trend I'm not getting my hopes up that the 8000 series will be significantly cheaper.
