Quick question, I'm in the process of selling my 6990 now
Was going to go for CF7970, should I change my mind to a 780?

The pound compared to where it is now does not equal to the massive price increase since last gen and this gen, AMD set the bar of £500 quid with their 7970 and nvidia have set the bar even higher.
Only you can answer that. If these come out at the higher end of 500-600 you can nearly pay for the CF setup for the price of a single 780, with a lot more performance.

I might go for 770's SLI or 7970 CF.
770's will use less power & could probably get away with using my current PSU, but will be more expensive.
7970 CF will be the opposite & may require a new PSU...
Decisions, decisions.
# How much can I get for my GTX 580 Twin Frozr?
They seem to go for around £100 on AVF. Pretty poor value imo.
Do you even need more than a 7970 / 680 at the moment for single 1440p display?
Thats music to my ears I have a Corsair TW750 as well, didnt really wanna splash another £100 on a PSU
Edit: hold on im seeing that spec pulling 800W+ most of the time???
Peaks at 860w from the wall, that's around 700w from the PSU.
The only disadvantage of running a PSU near maximum rated is the noise coming from the fan!
So I can get away with a TX750 then tonester?

For what games?
Easily mate, that unit can pull more than 1kw from the wall.
What is the rest of your spec? Mainly the CPU etc.
For what games?
3770k @ 4.8 (Noctua air) 16GB, SSD+HDD, Antec 902 case, other little bits
(Sorry to drag the thread off subject geezers nearly done).
