You are kidding right? 2-4 months at this point is FOREVER!!!! I been waiting on this card for half a year already!
I have 390X pushing my 4k display at 30hz and it sucks.I guess if you have nothing now then it is a long time, but what he said "very long time" sounds more like a year etc.
I donated my 980Ti to my wife for her Twitch streaming.... which meant I had to take the 390X and I refuse to buy 1080Ti with refresh just around the corner.I had a bit of sick come up in my mouth when I read 30hz.
Yes it is actually 30hz thanks to the stupid HDMI port AMD put on their flagship card....I can deal with 30fps at 60hz, but actual 30hz? Ergh.
Even moving the normal mouse cursor around feels like crap at 30Hz.I can deal with 30fps at 60hz, but actual 30hz? Ergh.

Er this month is June so July is in fact next month. Unless you don't understand how a calender works.Come on, what are you? A sloppy journalist... 1 day away from August is hardly next month.

Indeed. If you were to not buy tech when it's replacement is right round the corner you'd never buy anything!People have been saying the same thing for the past 6months, the refresh may well be another 6months away.
Better that than being one of the unfortunates, who buys old-gen at full price a few weeks before next gen makes his card awful value for money.Indeed. If you were to not buy tech when it's replacement is right round the corner you'd never buy anything!
There hasn't been an official announcement. You could be waiting a year for an AIB card at a decent price.Better that than being one of the unfortunates, who buys old-gen at full price a few weeks before next gen makes his card awful value for money.
The only time waiting is a gamble is when there has been no official announcement. The degree to which it is a gamble can normally be guessed at by the age of the current gen, and the usual cadence of releases.
Right now we're expecting something new. Those of us who don't mind waiting (because we have other things to do!) are well advised to wait.
But if you keep waiting for something better you'll never buy anything! Had my 1080 for over a year now, no regrets at all. It’s never a gamble to wait, it’s always the more prudent option.
The question is how willing are you to wait, and what value do you place on playing games now rather than then.
I’ll happily wait a year for the ti, if there’s no rumours abound by then, then it’s whateber is the top end at that time. Hopefully AMD manage to pull it off by then, but they’re too busy giving Intel the brown pants at the moment.

Nobody "always waits" or "keeps waiting forever".But if you keep waiting for something better you'll never buy anything! Had my 1080 for over a year now, no regrets at all.

Of those who advocate waiting, most people wait a bit, or even wait a lot, but at some point buy something.
