It would be even more disappointing considering the 2070 is the successor to the 1080 not the 1070Very disappointing cards if the 2070 doesn't even match the 1080Ti like previous gens. Guess Nv will keep yapping on about Ray Tracing instead.

It is not even correct.
If they are going to quote Quadro as mainstream for Ray Tracing they are overlooking their own GV100 cards lol.
not sure unofficial numbers from nvida were impressive considering they sold them all direct from them not through AIB's (sorry for late reply been at insomnia!!!)but who bought them? look, the mining bubble is over.
Remember how we used to think GPU prices would return to sane levels once the mining bubble burst. Lol.
Nvidia sure put the brakes on that dream.
Not sure on that lol. I see a lot of people who have no interest in buying saying this and that. A lot of AMD fans saying this and that and the one's buying, keeping out of the tit for tat pettiness. As you have seen from here, the all out war is between Nvidia fans in the arena. The AMD fans are sitting in the colosseum watching the blood flowing raising their thumbs.....
18.12.1 drivers are not that far away![]()

I totally agree. If no one pre-ordered and just have modicum of patience we would see prices tumbling down. That much is fact. If we just told Nvidia "NO". Even a week of slow sales would have them sweating and lowering prices. But those over in the pre-order thread just tell Nvidia we are happy to pay these prices. They frankly damage the industry for all of us. Just so they can e-peen and say they have the most expensive card. Even though they have no clue how it runs! sigh. A fool and his money are easily parted as they say.As much as I hate it, they only do it because they can get away with it, people keep paying it.
It's very simple, people refuse to be mugged off, prices come down, yet people keep chasing those extra few pointless FPS and spending loads of money on them.
I've wanted a 1070 TI for the last year now but the prices are still too mad to justify so my little old GTX 970 keeps on going. They should be half the price they are by this point in their life.
How so?You just disproved your own point? well done Greggy, own goal![]()
I'm just imagining this sketch where some old codger is on his deathbed regretting the fact he's going to die with his toy-fund all going to his kids because he was too tight to buy anything.
The amount of money I spent on my Evo, this hobby is nothing.

Emm, well count me in that group then. I would much rather I left my kids a decent inheritance than spent it all on toys!I'm just imagining this sketch where some old codger is on his deathbed regretting the fact he's going to die with his toy-fund all going to his kids because he was too tight to buy anything.

Better that I say than struggling to pay rent/mortgage/bills/food just because you have to have the latest and greatest....I personally know a few who have pre-ordered on credit cards because they 'can't afford it this month' ******* numpties the lot of them!

lol that's their prerogative. But yeah, needless to say that's a bit different.
They're the problem though, every single one of us on here knows we're being shafted by Nvidia, we're PC enthusiasts, we know how much these things cost - £1200+ for a graphics card, apart from memory chips, I bet the BOM cost has hardly risen since the 900 series. It's pure profiteering and many on here are happy to just throw them the money.
Some are happy being mugged and will happily pay it (Apple thrive off these types of people) others won't but those that pay it can't complain when they're responsible for part of the problem.
Yes it's certainly possible to do both. My point was I wouldn't be "annoyed" having left extra to my kids when I could have given it to Nvidia lol. It's easy to do both if you've put any effort at all into your work life/career, we're talking hundreds of pounds every couple of years if you upgrade and sell.
Kids shouldn't need a huge inheritance if they've been brought up correctly and to fend for themselves. The people I know who've been left a good amount of money have just went and blown it themselves on toys and what have you, so what's the differenceif we go off average life expectancy and average age of parents at birth why does your 40-50yr old son/daughter need loads of dosh left behind?
