Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Another thing that peed me off recently is some of the YouTube community, specifically gamers nexus. He is getting the cards for free to test and all he does is make digs against Nvidia in regards to the FE cooler (apparently Nvidia shouldnt be allowed to make a decent cooler for therir own product) and complains about the engineering gone in to it (too many screws). All I see is a well built cooler. If I was Nvidia I'd rig the card so it blows there rig up if they dismantle the card lol.

I had a similar thought about that vid. As interesting as it is to see it apart, I got the feeling he was complaining about it. I personally thought it showed just how well built the card was in the first place. And quite frankly why should Nvidia build it easy to take apart ? They should build it to be the best it can be ... which looks like what they have done.

yea I went and bought this rm1000i because I was worried that my evga 550gs wouldn't be upto it thinking I was cutting it a bit fine..what an idiot I was lol.

You should be absolutely fine. The 80% rule is a simplified one as the quality of the PSU factors in significantly there. If you see reviews of what some top quality PSUs are actually capable of above their rated wattage, it's evident that even at 100% usage you have headroom.

:) thanks for your reply, it kind of mirrors my feelings. nice to have it confirmed tho.

I remember my trusty water cooled 480sli and i7-920 setup. Some benchmarks could make it pull 1150w from the wall. My BeQuiet DPP 1200w unit was well up to the task.

All the same 14:00 otherwise they will be breaking NDA.

I'll be watching reviews myself after 2pm on the 20th, but I think everyone knows the outcome. There have been loads of leaks over the past 2 weeks on 2080 & 2080Ti performance. I doubt it'll be that much different. 2080 slightly faster then 1080Ti and 2080Ti slightly faster the Titan V.

Tomorrow isn't it?
