German Grand Prix 2010, Hockenheimring Circuit - Race 11/19

Rule #1 of team orders, don't make it sound like team orders.
Rule #2 of team orders, don't make it look like team orders.
Rule #3 of team orders, never admit to team orders.

LOL.

In fairness, the balls up today, was caused by Massa making the team order, obvious (which is understandable). It was also caused by Massa's engineer making it obvious that a team order was now being issued (which is understandable).

Ferrari knew that they were going to take a serious pummelling from the media/public, but they decided that winning the title is obviously more important.

They already admitted the move over message wasn't passed onto webber as vettel was faster and now Horner is trying to take the moral high ground. Madness, everyone in that room knows it too which is why Brundle is on his case.

If the stewards dont do anything this time around then they can never enforce that rule again and this season becomes a open season for the number 1's and we will see far less on track.

we already now know that massa will never win a race again.

Sorry if Alonso "could" win, should I say. Massa could win if Alonso is further down the grid.

Just watching the replay, Oh my god, could that have been any more blatant, even the overtake was rubbish! I'm shocked. I hope that the FIA do something, but I doubt they will going on past history when it comes to Ferrari.

Jeez, even Smedleys "sorry" a few minutes later!

Surely Massa knew the score when he happily signed a new contract. I don't feel sorry for him at all tbh. If he wants to be number 1, he simply needs to start beating Alonso from the first race of the season.
Oh anyone else think Rob Smedly will be getting a bit of a bollocking? There are far mor certain ways of telling Massa to move.

All these team orders lie with the fact that the teams want to win the drivers championship perhaps even more than the constructors.

In an ideal world the drivers should compete for the drivers, and the teams for the constructors. Then we wouldn't have all these silly events. The teams put too much emphasis on their team winning the drivers, who obviously rely on the car but the general public follows the driver not the team for the drivers championship.

He was probably torn between doing what his employers told him to do, and what he felt as Massas race engineer. He had to do it, but didn't like it so did it in that tone of voice.

Whatever Massa does, he will be the number 2 driver.

He drove for them in 2006, partnering Schumacher. He was number 2 driver - this was to be expected. 2007, Kimi came in as number 1 driver and dult took the title. 2008, Massa beat that number 1 driver. He had every reason to expect that he'd be the number 1 in the team from then on. Then in 2009 he got his head caved in by an errant spring off Barichello's car. He fights back up to fitness....and he's back down to number 2 driver as Alonso moves into the team.

He didn't stand a chance today. If he'd won, everyone would have said 'what a travesty, he only won it by luck at turn one, Ferrari are stupid for not swapping them'. He let his team-mate by....and people are on their case for it being a far too blatant example of team orders.

Hey ho.

What referring them to the world motor sport council means I don't know, maybe for further punishment?
