Hi there

When I drove an regular E46 M3 manual I disliked it. I was not impressed! However the CSL is night and day better over a regular M3. So yes you would like one. :)

Basically a CSL is nearly as every bit as good as a 911 GT3 on track but 10x better on the road. :)

The CSL will also embarras a lot of exotic cars at tracks such as Elises, Ferrari's and other track dedicated vehicles simply because the CSL is actually quite easy to drive at speed and remains civilised.

I drive a Golf as my everyday car so I can park it anywhere, lug stuff to the tip, give people a lift and generally not give a crap about it. It's not a car I bought to impress anyone, it's a practical, reliable cheap car which I bought for a purpose and it serves that purpose perfectly so I'm not sure what you're getting at?

I wasn't comparing it to the M3, I was merely saying that I wasn't impressed with the M3. It didn't press the right buttons for me as I'm more into raw car like the Elise or the DC5. Personally I couldn't think of anything worse than wafting around at 56mph in a 530i as it's just not my thing, by the same token driving a noisy, uncomfortable raw car like an Elise wouldn't be yours. Horses for courses....

Hi there

Might look into a bit more power, engine still has room for a little extra safely, alternatively I uprate the engine with re-inforced internals and tune further or look at other options.

However in the year I have had the CSL, looks like many new suspension parts have come out including a Saleen Watts link setup.

Reports are this Saleen watts link gives a vast improvement over all the suspension mods I have done in the rear of the car. So for $900 it seems like a good buy, traction improved further and owners say cornering goes into another league and bumps and poor road surfaces no longer unsettle the rear-end. So seems like a positive suspension mod.

Thats it really, only other option is I could look about weight reducement but that can be costly and the gains not so rewarding.

Its not often that somebody sells a car, gets something unique as a replacement, and is able to go back to the original without me thinking there plain daft, you Sir are the exception! ;):cool:

Replacing the engine, I'm assuming would be at less power than the tune its at just now but with more potential?

The new suspension upgrades sound great too, as long as it brings a smile to your face as that's what driving, imo, should be about.

I quite like a black mustang though.. Sorry :/ or gun metal grey. (without zee stripes)

Or am i getting in a pickle and it was black -.- ? :D
