Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P Flat QD-OLED: 32" 4K 240Hz with DisplayPort 2.1, KVM

Damn too late now to get it
For my birthday tomorrow :(:(

The last review on ocuk says compared to
Alienware AW3225QF
the screen is nothing special
Bit peculiar as it's the same panel isn't it?
just ones flat ones curved
Or am I mixing up model numbers?

edit
Apologies for red text

Copying and pasting stuff in here does
Some weird stuff sometimes

Well that's basically what I'd expect, you're paying the extra for the additional features and support it comes with, and perhaps a bit more brightness I've been hearing about. Probably why I'll hold off on this for now, until more information comes from next AMD/Nvidia cards myself.

Yeah that's not a bad point
Will the upcoming cards have dp 2.1 (full 80Gbs)
Or the ones after those
Or after them

Have put this gigabyte in my basket don't know
How many times now
But failed to pull the trigger
Keep telling myself can get the dell dwf for £626
Is this really worth over twice the price?
It's sad there's not really any shop
Where you can go to see these monitors in action
Would make life so much easier if you could

Having spent far more on this monitor than I ever thought I'd spend on one you can expect me to try to justify it. So I will. I do think it's image quality is much better than the dwf. I saw that in a shop so can compare but not side to side. The gigabyte clarity is much better, it's brighter and the gen3 qd oled has better text clarity too.

Now compared to the Dell 4k? That's a different story, if you don't need the kvm and don't mind the curve then just get that. It's the same panel.

Thanks that's useful info
Yeah 300 quid less for the 4k dell is a
Significant amount
I don't really need kvm or high power usb c
Just not sure I would like a curve on 32 monitor
Decisions, decisions lol

Interesting deal. AW3423DWF at 599 is certainly a nice price, but not sure I want 3440 x 1440 and its only 165hz.

I'm finally ready for a monitor upgrade but my current setup may struggle a bit at 4k (7800xt / R5600) yet I don't feel that the dell 1440p is the right choice. My budget caps out at 1k so the other monitors aren't really in play.

AW3225QF

Is £989
Same panel as the gigabyte etc
Just it's curved and no kvm or high power usb c
As someone already mentioned

Sorry what's KVM and why is this 300 more than the dell and the asus version coming out is nearly 400 more.

What's the difference?
Kvm =keyboard, video, mouse
It allows using those and 1 monitor with
More than 1 pc/laptop
Useful for some people but if you don't need it
It's extra cost for something that's no use to you

That's part of the reason for the extra 300-400
I guess part of it is also other manufacturers are
Pushing their luck knowing some people will pay it
Because these are the very latest panels

After weeks of hesitation
I decided I just couldn't justify that price
And my rtx3080ti probably not up to the job
Of 4k and 240hz either
So yesterday I got msi mag 341cqp instead
3440 x 1440p and 175hz and oled with a kvm
For £750

Thank you for the response.

Currently rocking a 3090 and the AW34 version of yours.

Might just hold off a while longer for new cards and gta6 whenever that might come to pc

Yeah I doubt even a 4090 will
Max the potential of 4k at 240hz
You could spend on the monitor now
And look to upgrade gpu in the future
But if you already have a decent monitor anyway
The longer you can hold off
The lower prices will drop on 4k @ 240hz ones
Compare the dell dwf launch price
And now I could have gotten that one for £600
Early adopters always pay through the nose for stuff

What plug-in + font did you choose?
Honestly I noticed it staright the way when I started doing work in my IDE. I've mostly mitigated the issue with a plugin and a new font but it's still very much there and text in general does not look as sharp as my previous IPS. I'm at text scaling 125% as well.

I'm keeping the monitor because everything else is so good and the aforemnetioned changes have made it a lot better for work. I don't do any sort of document writing, and all extensive reading of docs etc I do on my second portrait monitor so I can only talk from the aspect of programming, but I could definitely see it being not up to scratch for some.

Well my old monitor inexplicably went pop earlier. So decided what the hell and bit the built on one of these. Missed the cut off for delivery tomorrow by about 30 mins so will have to wait till Thursday. Primarily will be using it for media content although might attempt to connect my work laptop to it and make the most of the USB-C and KVM (we use Surface laptop 5 at work with 12th gen I7). Will need to obviously be a little careful with that although i use a screen magnifier for reading and typing plus can remove icons and hide task bar which should negate the risk of burn in.

Looking forward to trying some HDR content, have last of us part 1and Hogwarts lined up plus will be grabbing God of War in Sept. Any other game recommendations along those lines to show of teh full capabilities?
