**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

I've checked there, but that option isn't present. I'm guessing there must be some sort of patch for the game, I'll see if I can find it to download. Just a bit wary about making sure the card will work properly, given some of the issues people are having.

I've got a 1000w coolermaster psu with a single rail with up to 82 amps, so shouldn't be the psu. At the moment I only have the direct x that came with crysis, and it hasn't been patched to the latest version. Is it likely this might help address the issue?

You can force v sync in nVidia control panel

Right click desktop go to nvidia control panel then under Manage 3D settings go to the bottom and select Force On under Vertical Sync

Your psu has more than enough power and amps

My card came back NFF :(
Maybe i still have ATI drivers on the system
Why does the card become stable when i increase the volts tho?

NFF ?? oh dear thats not good

btw I tried mine on a complete fresh install basicallyWindows 7, SP1, just latest nvidia driver, and OCCT - nothing more- still as many artefacts

you could RMA it direct to Gigabyte - for the sake of just postage costs I think

if they find NFF then you know its definately your system in some way .... if they find it faulty ...

anyone not posted on here- with a stable or not stable 480 SOC please do so :) - just to see if we can see any trends

I'll do a fresh install of windows. My 8800GTX has no problems so maybe OC were at fault. will test again when it gets back.

when I first installed my 570 I had no issues at all- I'mnot sure I even remembered to uninstall ATI drivers first

20 minutes of OCCT was fine -Heavenfine etc etc (this is all after installing Nvidia driver of course)

only issues with the GTX480- and only at its OC - "underclocked" it was fine- so must be GPU surely

will try underclocking and seeing results

Right have run OCCT with the 3d on and my cards idle at 76 for the SOC and 65ish on the sparkle 480 but whats interesting is once i turned OFF the 3d on the Imitter the frames went up as they should and i got tearing so i looked at the tem of the soc and it was at an exceptable 85c but i have tearing so i turn the 3d on and NO TEARING , i get zero problems in heaven or in any games but OCCT does give me tearing

I am going to take the SOC out and try the other 480 i have and see what happens but i think its more a prob with OCCT and maybe not the cards

Just a thought (i could be wrong)

mine was/is perfecltly stable at 760 - at stock "out of the box" gpu core voltage

but not really the point when its meant to be a SOC

btw after yours Cleeccoo - thats 3 SOCs that have been sent back with artefacts and all tested fine at OCUK

also those of you with problems- please post on the Gigabyte forum like I have - if they see loads - it may send some alarm bells ringing at Gigabytes end - perhaps a bad batch or something

All I can say is, they aren't testing them very well.

I bet money if you returned them to Gigabyte they'd find them faulty and send you a new card.

My standard card is hitting 103c in Crysis 2. I am not noticing any artifacts but seems very high. :(

Crysis 2 seems to really punish GPU's, my 480 with the Giga cooler hits 90C in it!

I think they are not testing them properly and I have a bad feeling that if I don't instruct them exactly how to test it they will send my one back with no fault found, even though I am sure it is faulty. Then again, my one artifacts even when it is not hot in pretty simple games...

I already contacted Gigabyte support too just to see what they say. I would be interested to hear if anyone has tested one of the SOC cards with different PSUs and seen the artifacting issues with one PSU and not another.

I have a 1kw. I dont think thats the issue. It supported a 6970.
My cpu isnt even overclocked ATM.
i really need a spare PSU :(
