**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

Well thats nice that GB will sort out the SOC. Your paying the premium for that OC.

I just got my order in for £215 before the prices changed :)

Mine has been fine as well. I guess people with problems are more inclined to post about them rather than people who have a good experience.

Yeah sadly that's all you will read but people who seem happy to downclock or add more volts for stability  If it doesn't work out the box it's an instant RMA in my eyes, none of this messing about for the sake of it with me haha!

Currently testing my GTX480 SOC and seems to be unstable at the advertised speeds. I get 30'000 errors within a minute using OCCT however if i underclock it down to 780 core clock then it becomes stable and 0 errors :(. Will carry on testing it and not tried it out in any actual games yet but it isn't looking good.

Same. RMA time.

OCCT is a bit of a ridiculous test though in all honesty. Have you tried the usual things such as MSI Kombuster and Unigine?

Main thing is checking it in games etc and seeing what happens.

put it this way my GTX570 - out of the box heavily overclocked (factory overcocked) managed 20 minutes in OCCT without one error ... just for comparison

RMA update time - apparently - my card is being put under further testing - but initial tests showed it passed all graphics "games" tests (???!) - but apparently may have failed one sound one ? this is from Gigabyte - well thats a confusing result

Games are the best test however, synthetic benchmarks are hardly normal conditions for gaming now are they?

Well that will be interesting to see since they passed all the gigbyte "games" tests what they inform you to be the resolution, keep us posted.

After running around and doing the benchmark in heaven i've spotted no problems  Will get some more games installed tonight and see how it stands up.

Ouch!
Clearly for further testing, something must be wrong.

right RMA update time .... Gigabyte have got back to me - and no faults found / no artefacts seen

I'll see if I can post anything up - but they've ran 3 hours of testing, and sent me screenshots of Furmark running (only 1 min in mind - but shows they were running it - and at extreme settings - with 8xAA), heaven, etc etc etc - and I've an email of tech guy saying they've run all these without any artefacts visible. Email and photos are very thorough - including photos of my card in their bench system on the desk - so I have no reason to doubt results.

so .... that can only mean my motherboard is incompatabile with the card or my PSU is just not good enough (more likely I guess)

will purhcase a 850W PSU or just live with lower clocks

so buyer be warned slightly - a "decent" 700W may not be good enough !!

Not good :(
Maybe my PSU is dead. Do the 480s have problems with mobo compatibility like the 460s had?

700W Tagan - I'd assumed a decent one and good enough - ts powered a 570 and 3870x2 previously with no issues

I'll order a 850W Corsair or 950W Corsiar now - if I still have issues - I have no idea what then
