**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

How long ago did they last replace your card?

was quite a few years back I have to admit

but with current RMA they've been very "willing" - comms have been good, testing results comprehensive - - they'd already talked about replacing the card if it failed their tests - so have no reason at all to doubt them

Good to know. What other factors cpuld cause a card to fail?
I talked to tge tech at GB and he agreed the card was at fault.
Out of interest, what did they talk about concerning replacing your card?

they just said what process was if to be replaced, IE they'd source a new replacement or refurb from their factory in Taiwan - and that normally it took about 2 weeks (which is fair enough really)

literally though - they sent me about 20 photos of the testing they did - so they were certainly thorough - thats for sure - even dual monitor etc - their test rig looks funky - can't make out what the PSU is though

So there was no chance of you getting a 580?
Damn :(

Well after the initial tests that scared me (OCCT tbh) I have been running games with no problems so far (SC2, Just Cause 2, Metro 2033 and Crysis 2). Only problem i seem to be having is horizontal flickering black lines (extremely faint) 3 quarters the way up my display but think that can be fixed if i mess around with the options for v-sync in nvidia control panel and individual games. Only other downside is my card seems to be hitting 100 degrees in some games but my case fans are set-up the way i would like so once thats sorted we'll see.

Anyway heres hoping those RMA'ing their cards get everything sorted.

Maybe you have badly applied TIM.
100 seems way too high

My fans were also always on 100% but it was the same as 40% on my 6970.
My temps have gone into low 90s after hours of gaming

Yea the 100 seems to have been a one off to be honest. Been playing SC2 for a few hours now and my max temp according to Afterburner is 90 degrees (average seems to be about mid 70's) which sounds about right? Thinking the 100 degrees was recorded when i was running OCCT.

I have been running the afterburner OSD in metro and I note fan hits 100% after a few minutes (which is fine, it's quieter than my 5870 on 100% fan). Temps seem fine though, havent seen over 85 yet.
