**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

What did you say reference your RMA as the problem? Obviously this thing is working and to most people (joe public) they would be happy with it as it is working and hasn't let me down in any games as yet. I don't want to send it off to GB for them to find 'no fault' as such. It's a tricky one this. I've just run OCCT again, and it's definitely not stable - I get thousands of errors, but is that enough to warrant replacement?

I said it was an unstable overclock.
GB don't charge fees if they get NFF
I asked them to specifically test with OCCT and i think they might have done.
They couldn't find the fault with my card initially but they put it into a second stage where they found the fault. I'm guessing OC quit at the first stage :(

I have the word doc that i sent to them, how would I post it on here?

That's great thanks very much indeed. I have been given a small box on a spreadsheet to fill out my problems, so I might write a covering letter/email also. I'll have a think about it. Also did you try overvolting the card at all?

yes - just don't admit to it! Made the problem better
I filled in the small box with
card not stable at factory overclocked speeds

I then attached this A4 doc to the card box where they were guaranteed to see it.
I would e-mail it but they don't work for the tech dept so it may not get to the right person.

Right, I ran OCCT and had loads of white pixels and ~15k errors after 20secs then my comp crashed. It can’t run Heaven at all without going completely multicoloured with tons of artefacts before crashing... and I can’t run any games for more than 2mins, after which artefacts appear, followed swiftly by my computer crashing. That's if it doesn’t crash straight away... which it usually does :(

Guess its RMA time then.

Yes it is. With problems that extreme I would RMA to OcUK

thought i had a stable card to delbert till i took the vsync off in occt then BANG it started showing no end of errors when pushing the SOC to its full

I am not overly pleased as now it has to go back

I might sell my 2nd 480 and just get a single 580

How many posts do i need to be able to buy n sell on the MM threads

Looks like i got lucky with my card.
My MB has a dedicated molex on it to feed power to the PCI-e slots. Maybe that is a factor.
I also use the central HDD cage in the P182 to tunnel cool air to the card. However, i won't be running that OCCT again.... way too much heat.
It never goes beyond 80oC in anything else... ( as previously mentioned... heaven 1hr loop, 76oC ).
Hope you get you cards sorted soon.

dedicated Molex feed for PCI-E slots ! wow - thats impressive

I do wonder with mine whether my PCI-E slot provides enough power as its only PCI-E 1.1 - but should be ok

getting a volt meter on the 12V rail tonight to see if I'm getting any droop

and hopefully will finally get to order a new PSU tomorrow - either a Corsair HX, AX or the NZXT (all 850W varients) - if those don't power it I don't know what !

Delbert - thats quite a novel - and impressive feature

my P5B Deluxe - even though been HEAVILY overclocked for years - all 4 DIMMS populated, high Vcore, high SB volts, high NB volts etc- is still going strong after 4 + years ! By far longest I've ever had a motherboard for

its not perfect - but its been a great investment

yeah i remember a few of my older MOBOs having that feature where the mobo has the extra molex connector

well at 1.1V I can get it games stable and heaven stable at 810/1930 memory

ok higher than stock volts - but relatively cool still

not OCCT stable for more than a minute or so - but that may be drawing such a load from my PSU that there was a drop

I remember now that although my OCCT was stable on my 570 - the 570 had a power limiter which probably helped my PSU

its on old MB, but serves me well.....:D
5 is the molex feed.

Looking to upgrade next year sometime,...

I have that board as well, but I've never plugged the molex in. I thought it was only neccessary if you have a high power draw GPU and stuff in the other pci slots. Could be wrong though, I'd forgot it was there until I saw that pic :p
