**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

well that's what you would have thought - but I just tried Mafia II for a bit and everything ran very well

All comes down to how the game uses the card.

You might find a load of games run fine, but then you'll find something that fails hard.

End of the day, if your card can't pass OCCT it isn't stable, and you've paid for a card that is.

I personally wouldn't be happy keeping it.

Thanks Cleeecooo, I'll get the tape measure out when I get home.

Little bit worrying about all these faulty cards, but I guess people are more liekly to post of they have problem...

Have you actually ticked the check for errors checkbox to see if it detects any GPU errors? Or are you just watching closely for artifacts?

When i check the box for error checking the card only pushes 45% GPU and hits 71c max and NO errors at all when i untick the box my card hit 88% GPU usage and hits 88c temps and i have no artifacting at all now (sli i got the tearing artifacts but that was due to differant core speed and mem speeds, so set both 480s to the SOC speeds and no more problems at all)

so to answer your question YES i checked the check for errors box :p

The gigabyte 480SOC is back to £219 on OCuk and is WELL WORTH the money IMO. I was a lucky bugger and got a very good card with very low Voltage

Do you have vsync enabled (or forced via drivers/D3Doverrider)?

If so then you need to test with it disabled. OCCT should push your card flat out, not 45%.

Sure? It can be extremely hard to spot artefacts. I saw loads near the grass before it went to the bridge (just after the ship)
Did you run everything at full settings?

I left it running default at my native res. The thing is, I've tried a couple of games and they are flawless too. Very weird. I'll fire up Heaven again and have another look.

Okay I set everything to max and I'm lucky if I'm hitting 20 fps :D That said, there's the occasional texture flicker but the grass was perfect. No obvious sparklies or anything nasty. I had presumed it would have been really obvious if there was a major problem with my card.

I sent mine back under DSR as well, saying it was faulty. I had a buzzing noise coming from the card when playing games. Awaiting my refund now.

Very tempted to order another one of these, but I really don't want to have to go through DSR again...
