Glasgow Airport-under attack

I am SO getting searched on Monday morning at the airport lol.

Me and my mate are going backpacking with some huge rucksacks, and with this bomb scare stuff i bet we get a huge grilling about why we have things.
 
I got a flight to Kenya this morning (10am) from Heathrow. Keeping my guard.

I can't believe someone would want to target Glasgow (where I went to Uni and regard as my second home) :(

Have to agree with you there mate! I mean, just how inept a terrorist do you have to be to botch a carbomb? It's not like a carbomb is akin to Zero-point point energy research or something, especially with these modern cars!
 
The BBC News channel is saying that police have said that no explosive device was found on the man/men.

EDIT: They are referring to the one who was arrested (not the one in hospital with severe burns).

Oh Bugger!!!! I am on the way back to the UK and I just read this from Qatar airport half way home from Borneo via KL! Half the plane I am on will probably be searched! Bah! 1hr50 betweeen connecting flights! Anyone live near Heathrow that can put me up for the night? :(

Yeah, all they've managed to do is create something Brown can exploit for political gain and create more racial/religious distrust.

It's a shame to see comments generalising Asian and Muslims, but sadly inevitable.

Can anyone confirm if the bloke who clobbered the burning bloke countered the "Allahu Akbar!" being shouted with the acient Celtic war-cry "Seeujimmi!"?

A brave chap, hats off to him :) Glad another incompetent attempt has flopped, hopefully if there are to be more "attacks" they continue to achieve nothing of substance.

'create' religious distrust? You don't think that religious distrust is appropriate given the violence we have seen?

Yesterday there were attempts to kill and hurt people that were motivated by religious teachings. Should this not cause some rather legitimate religious distrust?

Do you think Brown was sitting in No10 thinking "oh good, an airport attack, what an oportunity"?

I never drew any conclusions about the legitimacy of the feelings created, I simply stated they had been.

I don't know, can you guarantee he didn't think how this can help his position on many topics such as ID cards and internment?
 
I've just driven past the Central Scotland Islamic Centre and there is a large police presence outside guarding the place. Yet more taxpayer's money being wasted on these people.
They take our help when they want it with one hand, while planning more attrocities with the other. Before anyone accuses me of sweeping generalisations I would like to ask what evidence there is of the entire muslim community coming out against islamic terrorism.
