Reed just birdied to -14 with an amazing putt.
McIlroy just bogey'd on the 3rd and gone from -12 to -11.

edit: McIlroy birdie on 4th and back to -12 while Reed pars on -14.

9.40pm..
Reed still in the lead at -14 on 9th hole.
Spieth has steadily improved his score and is now in second place at -11 on the 13 hole, while McIlroy is at -10 on the 9th.

Congrats Patrick Reed! No playoff and first player outside of the top 20 in the world to win the Masters since 2010.
 
Shame for Rory, feel if he'd made that Eagle on the 2nd it could have really pushed him on - congrats to Patrick Reed though! Time for me to hit the range after work tonight, safe to say my golf bug is back :D
 
I had my first round in nearly a year on Friday gone. Had a good front 9 getting 14 points (would have been 18-22 if my putting was working) then the back 9 I went to peices as I was blinking knackered :p

Still my mid game is my Achilles heel, put me 150 yards away in deep rough and I'll chip within 10 foot. Put me in the middle of the fairway 200 yards away with not an obstacle in sight and I'll almost inevitably scuff it about 10-20 yards. It's surreal.

Yep I know the feeling! Thinking of picking up a couple of hybrids to replace my 3/4 iron - going to invest in some lessons too but it's hard deciding who to use, ideally I'd like to see someone with a launch monitor so I can see some tangible data on my swing.

Trackman has a map of where all their launch monitor qualified coaches teach. Granted that only covers one of the launch monitors, but I don't think the competitors have a similar feature.

Impulsively purchased a used set off Gumtree last week, 20 years after I last hit a ball (sold my clubs and put that cash and the membership renewal cash towards my first car back when I turned 18).

My bag contents -

Wilson Firestick driver
MD Golf Superstrong STR15 3 wood
Nike Slingshot 3 & 4 hybrids, 5-PW irons
Cleveland 588 RTX 60° wedge
A putter of some sort

Equipment certainly has progressed quite a bit since I last played; the hybrids are lovely to hit. Seems to be a huge selection of wedges in peoples bags now too.

Managed to hit a couple of large buckets of balls today and yesterday. Hoping to get 18 holes in next Monday.
 
Ive changed up from the ping i20's with a px6 shaft to the iblades with the kbs tour x shaft. Has definatly improved my left and right dispersion without sacrifising distance which is great, just need to decide on wedges now need to go for a gap fitting.

Given the fact that 2 years ago I was about ready to quit this game due to frustration back spending money on it is a huge turn around
