Played pretty well, first nine holes took 2 and three-quarter hours tho' so we then did the first nine again and still got stuck behind a fourball who simply shold not have been on a golf course. Nor were they interested in letting us through so we missed out a couple of holes and finished having only played 16.

Slow play is the curse of the modern era!

Those who don't know such basic course ettiquete shouldn't be allowed on the course.

Was playing ina group of 4 last weekend and happy to say we left a gent through one his own, had a pair behind us but played on as they had a pair behind them and they both seemed pretty dire, specially as the ones 2 behind missed me with a tee shot by about 2 foot  either very accurate or very inaccurate!

2 new courses and hit a 113 and 111 respectively, not great, but getting there and enjoying it, which is the main thing! :)

Well, played this morning in the final day of Weston Golf Week, a fourball better ball stableford 3/4 h/cap. We were first out at 7:30am and in my opinion got the best of the weather on the front 9, no wind, no too hot, my partner and i were on fire, going out in 24 plus a 2 from me on the 7th, we came back in 21 and posted our score of 45 which remained unbeaten all day.
Our prize for winning...........2x Titleist Scotty Cameron putters rrp. £199 each !!
Plus a nice glass trophy each and our names on the perpetual trophy which stays at the club...awesome !!

Was so chuffed walking up to collect our prize this evening, all the members clapping and shaking our hands afterwards. :D

Nicely done :D

Underneath that clapping they were calling you all the names under the sun haha.

I'm just getting my game back together now, hit a couple of great drives and seconds and my putting is pretty consistently average as usual. They had rolled the greens super fast for club finals day today and they were lightning!

We had this on Friday, took us over 4 hours as a 2-ball! Rarely do we take that long as a 4-ball on the same course!

People in front of us were a direly slow 3-ball, but there were 2 or 3 4-balls ahead of them (who were constantly faffing about on the tee and on the green - chatting etc for a couple of minutes before/after taking a shot ) so even if we had played through we'd of got held up just as much. Everyone seemed to think they were Stretch Armstrong - letting the group ahead of them get 350yards down the fairway before teeing off...only to hit it about 150/200 yards every time

Had a decent round though, a few of my tee shots skewed off to the right but I realised I had the club face closed slightly which cured that. My Short game (bar chipping, still need to work on that) saved me and I had 5 or 6 holes where a SW/PW got me to within 2 foot of the pin which I was chuffed with :D

I finally found this wedge I like at the price I want, but it comes with a S300 (stiff) shaft and I play with regular, baring in mind its a gap wedge at 52/07 will I be able to play with it?

I know it sounds like only a question I could answer, knowing my own abilities, but I have never used stiff shafts so I don't know the difference.

For a wedge, a stiff shaft isn't going to be a big problem and may help but only you can say. Seeing as how 90% of golf* is in your head, just knowing that the shaft is different might make it impossible for you to use it.

*a slight exaggeration but only a slight one.

Yeah with a wedge having regular stiff or wedge flex won't make much of a difference. In your driver it will have quite an effect though, but thats not what you asked about :D

Off to Bridlington today, playing two rounds tomorrow and one on friday for the annual tosspots cup. Last years was a bit messy, got in from the nightclub at 5:30am and was teeing off at 8:00am. One of my mates was drinking red wine on the first tee to try to stop the monster hangover kicking in.

Looking forward to lots of golf and beer, followed by a short stay in the local hospital for alcohol poisoning!

:D

Hit every fairway and every green in regulation today but had an absolute mare with the putter, 3 3putts and 3 4putts for a 9 over par round of 80. Not a single birdie. Must have missed 15 or 16 5 footers or less.

Just played nine holes and won all the skins, happy days.
The greens were terrible, every step brought up mud and my balls and putter were covered in thin mud slime.

Averaged 33 points over 3 rounds of golf at courses i never played before. Came 4th out of 16 players on the annual trip away. Quite suprised really as there were some good golfers there and i had a fair few hangovers! :D Driving on the last day let me down, needed a 42 pointer to win the trophy, was going ok after 8 as i had 17pts, but then it all just went to pot.
