Odyssey Spider putter? I've not been following golf for the last 2 years but should that not be TaylorMade? I could be mistaken.

I played my first round in 18 months on Friday at Whitefield and I can't believe how well I played. It's like the 2 year layoff has dropped most of my bad habits. Getting the bug back just as summer comes to a close. Although now I'm actually looking forward to watching the Ryder Cup.
Nope you're right, it was Taylormade.

@booyaka pics when it arrives of course.

So plan for myself over the off season is to look into my driver.
Over the past 2 months I have struggled with consistency when at the start of the year I was bombing drives.
Now I'm putting myself into trouble off the tee and loosing approx 5 shots per round. I feel I really need to "work" my driver just to hit it.

So I'm either going to have a couple lessons (I know unheard of) or go back to Scottsdale or my new local Peak Performance Golf in Stourbridge to get fitted, again!!!
Oh it's such a frustrating sport :D

Give me a shout if you ever fancy a round in Manchester. I'm not far from Whitefield.

This morning I played at Weybrook Park in Basingstoke, thought I didn't have much time so only the 9-hole East Course, it seemed really well maintained and an interesting set of holes. Only weird bit is I got there and the pro shop wasn't open at around 7:10, guy turns up and says it'll be open in about half an hour to register/check-in or whatever (booked and paid online so not much to do) but ~35 mins later and rapidly getting to my tee time there's no sign of life so I decided sod it I'll just go play, which seemed to work fine :p

Annoyingly my dad's procedure at the hospital which was the reason for me being there was massively delayed so didn't pick him up till ~15:30 ish, could've easily played all 27 holes and then some if I'd known

Got an unplanned bonus round in this afternoon and broke 90 (89/+18) for the second time :) Car was booked in for some work but I didn't realise they'd need it all day and overnight, had booked the day of work so ended up with a free afternoon.

It was one of most unremarkable rounds you'll ever see. Opened up with eight straight bogeys before my run came to an end and I doubled the 9th. Very poor considering I had found the fairway with my drive and the hole was only playing around 430 yards. Think I came up short with my second, went just through the green with the third and then three putted from distance. Back with a bogey at 10, then a double at 11 (another poor one on a short par 4) before bogey on 12 and my first an only par of the round on the 13th. Three bogeys followed, then a double on 17 (saved from worse by a worldy of a bunker shot) with a birdie to close out on 18.

For those not keeping count that was 13 bogeys, three doubles, a par and a birdie :p Plus I came away one ball to the good, which must be a first for me. Hit a beauty of a drive on 16 down the left side flirting with the OB. Got what I thought was to my ball, it was white and had TaylorMade on it. PW onto the green and it wasn't until I'd marked it and started cleaning that I realised it was a RBZ and not the Soft Response I was playing! Frantically dashed back to look for my ball, thankfully it was quite, and found it a bit further back just on the edge of a path. Took relief but came up a touch short with my approach and three putted from off the green.

First bad round in a while yesterday. Just couldn't get comfortable over any shot and my swing felt rubbery as hell. Doesn't help that I've sold my old clubs as funds for my new ones and am playing with a raggedy old set until I pick them up.

Yeah definightly. Are you a member of a club? I was at pike fold for 6 years but didn't renew the previous two years but I'm thinking about joining back up next year.

Not currently a member anywhere. I was a member at Blackley for a while but gave it up as I don't play anywhere near as much since having a child.

I usually play at Styal as a mate is a member there, or Heaton Park as it's cheap and local. Otherwise it's whatever hot deals are available on GolfNow.

Me too, I’m only up the East Lancs in Leigh

Always happy to play if I'm available. I haven't played many courses up that way so I'm happy to try some. I think Ellesmere is the closest to you that I've played.

Heaton Park! You need to be a mountain goat to play on there. :D

Out for the normal Friday golf today and decided to enter the club comp again, they do one weekly and it's been a while cause I felt it was negatively affecting my golf but several others were in so why not :p

It didn't feel like my best round, lots of 'not quite right' strikes on the ball, thin, fat, toe-y, no shanks at least :p But also felt like I largely avoided any major errors/issues so actually scored pretty well, think I got 40 points off a ~106 (one pickup, but with the england golf net double-bogey thing that'd be an 8)

Had a decent finish too, long/hard par 5 (SI 1) but took the 5w as my driver is still not playing ball really, duffed that a whopping 58 yards but two good hybrids and a beatiful 52-degree wedge got me on the green in 4 and 2-putt for bogey :) net-eagle :p

Away for the weekend again so no Sunday round (boo!) but just booked some morning golf for next week :D

Got the Scotty this morning and played this afternoon with @-westy-, went round in 94 and didn’t get chance to practice with the putter beforehand so wasn’t hitting it that well to begin with. Some more practice and I think we can knock a few shots off, also hit a 291 yard tee shot (thanks tailwind and downhill slope!)

Got out for twelve holes after work. Nothing particularly remarkable until I got to the par 5 12th hole.

Drive found the backside of the fairway bunker, which is the bunker for the opposing 11th hole. Played a 7i out, OK at least, advanced it back onto the fairway. Decided to hit another one for practice. Thinned it but ended up better than the first. Kicked the first ball up level for some practice shots into the green.

Watch was showing 164 yards to the front. Picked up the 7i not really expecting to reach, although had hit a 6i around 180 total earlier on which was probably a record for me, and first shot came up short right. Then flushed the living daylights out of the second one and carried to the green, or so I thought. Got another ball out of my bag and flushed it again onto the green. Hit a couple more but couldn't quite replicate the proceeding two shots.

Got up to green and saw that the two great shots had just pitched in the collar and hopped onto the green. Both of them were still 160+ carry, I've never ever seen that on the range or course before now :D. There were the sort of shots that give you eternal hope that one day you could be a half decent golfer!
