Kinda, but I can't really complain having just scored 46 points

If I somehow don't win the comp with that though...
now that's a total disgrace... 46 point, didn't win, get massive handicap cut... I'd be raging!!! :p

Did the winner get 5 shot cut and banned for a month from competitions for disgraceful scoring?

It's an *If* I don't win, pretty damn sure I'll win but there's always the possibility however slim :p

My PB in stableford is 51 points! That was in a society that keeps their own handicaps though and I got a 10-shot cut for that gem :p

quick question guys..

what is your height and shaft length?? im 6"2 and have been "fitted" for a 1 inch longer shaft??

Im not sure on it though..
6'5 and an inch longer.

How you're built matters - I'm short-legged for my height and have a 6'7 wingspan so an inch longer is bang-on for me.

yeah, im not sure..my swing dictates a lot of "fat" shots.. so go down the shaft sometimes, wonder if for me an inch longer isn't the optimal.

Couple of shots of the sixth at Eagle Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne.

A vicious par 3, with the bunker running the length of the hole having a 20-25ft lip in front of you to get over to get onto the green if you do leave it short, kindly demonstrated by my pal in the third picture.

Luckily I manage to hit the front of the green off the tee, flag was way at the back, three putted for a bogey which I was happy to escape with!

The whole course is amazingly beautiful, with lots of savage bunkers, and while not very long you need to be accurate.

Plenty of signs around the clubhouse warning you about aggressive Tiger Snakes, so you don’t really want to be looking for lost balls in the bushes

Took advantage of the nice weather today.

Sat outside and cleaned/cleared out the bag, cleaned all the clubs, got all the balls marked up for the season etc.

Buzzing for golf season proper now.....

Iv been up early everyday sense Friday, I managed to to watch all 3 rounds of the Liv golf Hong Kong. First time I have really spent watching any Liv, got to say was enjoyable and was good not having to commit to whole day with the bonus my wife didn’t moan.

Great weather this weekend, shame I can't say the same about my golf. Saying that driver, woods, wedges and putter are OK. Pace putting has been great.

Just going through that phase where I'm hitting my irons pretty solid on the range, set a new PB the other evening with my 7i, but not on course. That along with the 17th hole, which still has my number - today I got to the top of my back swing and my arms turned to jelly, means I can't put a score together.

Next lesson a week on Tuesday, hopefully I have improved even if I'm not seeing it on course!

A big milestone hit for me yesterday. A few caveats first - it's the winter card and is only a par 67 and yes its only like 5900 yards but for the first time I broke 70. Needed a 8ft putt on the last to shoot 69 and it snuck in the right edge. Ended up coming back with 9 pars but last 4 holes I really had to scramble well. It'll be while if ever I break 69 on the summer card but officially I have now broke 69 - handicap down to 7.7!

First eagle of the year on Friday - first hole at my home club is a 340 yard dogleg right - you can get it well down towards the green by cutting the corner though. Currently playing off a mat to let the tee box recover, about 15 yards forward. Wasn't specifically going for it, but hit my usual drive, must've been a combination of the perfect angle and great bounce, walking up to the green I see my ball 5 feet from the flag  Managed to roll it in for the eagle. Birdie on the next hole to leave me 3 under through 2, then it all went wrong :p Scrambled well and finished with a 77.

First eagle of the year on Friday

Love that you expect to get more. I've had 1 total in ~2.5 years. :p

@booyaka - Good news, I did indeed win the comp  First in division 1, second place 'only' had 35 points. Winner of division 2 had 39 points. Also one of 3 people sharing the two's pot.

Played saturday in the sunshine, lovely to get out. Got a week in Portugal at the end of April with the golf lads so need to get a bit more action in. Only managed a measley 27 points but dropped 5-6 points putting due to the green having been tined so they were bumpy.

Been looking at new irons, like the look of the callaways but looked at lofts and amazed at the difference. I'm playing with Taylormade r7's from about 15 years ago, looking at the latest Callaway irons, their 4i is the same loft as my 2i... and there was me wondering why all my mates were hitting shorter clubs into greens than me! :D

Does anyone use that method on the green where players walk up and down the line and sway left to right getting a supposed "feel" of the slope left to right? Some combine it with "aim point" I think.
I tried it a couple of times but don't understand what I am meant to be feeling through my feet. I cannot detect any gradient by doing it at all.

I've never seen anyone swaying. To me you're describing aim point. Takes a big investment in time to learn and perfect. Not something I see myself pursuing any time soon.

Edit: think I've posted this before but this is the clearest explanation I've seen of aim point.
