Played 9 holes at my local yesterday, been feeling a bit 'off' recently with the normal group annoying me but went out with some club members I've played with before and we did a little match which was really close and just led to nice relaxed and enjoyable experience :)

Then today was the Fore business meeting at Cumberwell Park and I had a day :D My driving has actually got a bit worse but my approach play was decent and my chipping was on fire today, putting looks stunning (29 putts total) but that's 90% because of the chipping, putting was ok but easy to 1 putt when you're 2 foot away :p

Won the meeting with 44 points! 10 more than second place...

hope you shamefully apologised to all members...

Disgraceful

Early season lesson today.... Always just go for a tidy up/check up before season starts proper.

glad I did...

A few bad habits sneaking back into my swing so got some stuff to work on.

Mainly I'm getting to close to the ball again... I have a tendance to get "on top of it" - so he wants me to setup to what feels "normal" to me, and then as part of my pre-shot routine.... move back about 1 or 2 inches. Currently feels like I'm on my toes a bit and "reaching" for the ball but gives me way more room to be less "over the top"

Also worked on getting a full pre shot routine that encompasses the various things we've worked on over the last few years.

So work on my pre-shot routine which should set me up well for the couple of faults that have crept in. Will get a another check up in a months time to see how we are getting on.

18 holes this morning - chilly but ok. tee's still well forward so course playing fairly short.

Working on some stuff from the lesson, so good practise for that. Couple of birdies to add to the 50 Birdie Challenge (8/50 so far). Finished +5 I think but not that bothered about scores at this time of the year.

Just focusing on the pre-shot routine for now - try and make that stick as much as I can.

As expected very variable this morning while I work on my setup and swing change. Wedges really suffered but conversely I was striping my 7w.

What I didn't expect was my abismal display with the flat stick. I missed at least five from inside 3ft including one on the 4th for birdie having just bagged closest to the pin. Oh well, back out tomorrow for some more practice.

After my great round at Cumberwell Park on Wednesday I've played a bunch at my local, 9 holes Thursday and Friday and then 18 holes yesterday and today, mostly exceedingly mediocre golf.

I'm not playing 'bad' as such but just going around with bogey being 'my level', in the past 36 holes I've had 4 pars and many bogeys, a few bad holes but just seems mostly meh.

Saying that my chipping has been good, putting ok, my full swing feels 'odd' but not sure what.

Worst bit is my bag seems to have decided to literally start falling apart, got a TaylorMade Flextech Lite bag 'around' a year ago, not actually sure quite when it was as I bought it at my local shop, but the stitching just above the front pockets, and where that half of the strap goes, has just come apart. There's two big holes now and not 100% sure how long the straps are gonna last tbh. I've not done anything really with it to cause it, and mostly carry <14 clubs (currently 10 but does vary, just for weight saving) so a little disappointed, I do play a bunch but still... Gonna go check my local store to see if it's still inside any 'warranty' or whatever...

Can anyone reccomend a sturdy carry bag, but also lightweight, cause I want all that cake :p

I had a TaylorMade bag when I used a trolley and wasn't all that impressed with the quality - some stitching was starting to fray and the zips were a bit dodgy.

Got rid of it for one of these and I love it...

Mate uses the Ping Hoofer and swears by it.

Captain's Drive In at the club today - usual bit of social then a 4 man Texas Scramble over 9 holes - great fun and nice to do something different to the usual!

Ended up -7 net, with 3 birdies - our team getting 4 shots for the scramble (18, 19, 17 & 9 handicaps).

Certainly worth contacting Customer Services - send some pictures etc.

TGL had a triple header last night - 3 matches back to back.

Caught bits and bobs of them all - it was great stuff.... Very good entertainment, good banter.... Players look really into it. Competitive juices flowing etc...

Another match tonight as well

Played Stinchcombe Hill today, first time playing the course and it was playing short with the tee boxes moved up to protect the main ones but only 1 temporary green at least (and it wasn't bad, although I did miss my putt :p).

Being shortened meant I wasn't able to put a card in... So of course I played really quite well again, maybe there's a correlation there :p

Shot 81, which is 13 over (par 68, only 1 par on the back 9). Struggled a bit with the greens to start with so my front 9 wasn't anything special at +10 but my back 9 I had 1 double bogey, 2 bogies and a birdie for +3, which was also 38 on par 35 which is pretty close to my best 9 ever.

I dunno if it is just a mental issue of not being able to score when 'it counts' or whether my local is just hard :p

Played Enville again yesterday. Great front 9 but shocking back. Lost my swing completely but we go again another day.
Can't believe how dry the course is currently. Just highlights my desire to join there and have full 365 days of golf spread between 2 courses.

Messaged my mates with a cheeky photo of how dry the course is and the lack of mud I had on me after 18 holes after hearing them trawl through a mud bath elsewhere
