Good Bye Freedom, Hello Police State Britain.

So wanting to protect your privacy makes you a terrorist?

He's saying that the database is pointless because terrorists would just use a random name and address, just like people who don't have a tv license do when they buy a tv.

Though we all know the database has nothing to do with preventing crime and terrorism anyway.

Some people will laugh and post the tinfoil hat pic or similar but the NWO is on its way.

How come we didn't find the WMDs in Iraq? ....... there weren't any ... we were lied to.

How come that in a country as large as USA there have been no more 'terrorist' attacks (AFAIK)? ... please don't tell me that the terrorists aren't good enough or that the security measures are the reason.

First we get ID for foreigners (yeah, quite right! we all exclaim), but then it will be forced on us; they'll use the usual 'security' excuse or maybe another 'incident' to justify it and tell you it's for your safety and security but you'll have to accept it. The card will eventually contain your driving license and medical records and a little further down the line, be the only way to pay for goods and services as there will be no cash.

Next we get a RFID chip incorporated in it that means that your whereabouts can be tracked. Shortly thereafter you will be required to have the chip 'inserted' under your skin.

Seem far fetched? ...... laugh and point if you want but think seriously about how easily it is to fool the population into thinking "well, I've got nowt to hide so why not" etc

As someone said earlier, you may well trust the government that starts to introduce these things, but will you trust whoever manipulates their way into power later on?

Individuals aren't going to be monitored without reason. It seems some people think they are so why would they be and how exacly will this power be abused? What they gonna do if they know you are in your house talking to your mate on the phone?

Just wear the system down by consuming huge resources by saying the word BOMB or something in everything you say and do in communications even if it’s in tiny font so no one sees!

They’ll get annoyed and scrap the idea with any luck.

They could then use the remaining money to improve the UK road system, make commuting lives for those of us that work easier so that we can get to work without frustration of running late then we can perform better at our jobs, we can then earn more by being rewarded for doing better work and through paying more taxes use that money for further improvements.

Fat chance of that happening though I guess.

It just seems that today all the world’s governments and fat cats are focused on is Paranoia and Profit.

Think of how many databases our names and details are on already yet when its the Government certain people are up in arms.

This is true, I'm already on far more databases than I'm entirely comfortable with, however these are not centralised databases and the information is fairly widely dispersed so if someone wants all that information about me then they've got to do a bit of tracking down. If all the data is in one centralised location then they've just got to break into one system rather than multiple systems and that is even before we consider the worrying propensity of civil servants to apparantly discard segments of databases they are entrusted with on public transport.

Perhaps you or someone else would care to indicate how you think this database will achieve the stated aim of increasing our security?

It brings to mind an apt quote by Thomas Jefferson "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.".

cant see this working at all, NO ONE can force me to give out my details

They already have most of your details anyway; it is a matter of getting you to carry your ID card everywhere ..... voluntary at first and then compulsory with fines etc if you don't.

People are/were complaining that BT and other ISPs were secretly collecting info about your surfing habits to enable them to provide you with 'targeted advertising'; take it a few steps further .... what happens when certain sites are declared illegal (sympathetic to terrorist or whatever) and you are banned from visiting them ? ..... you don't think that they know about proxies etc?

It is happening before our eyes and still people let it go or feel it's more important to take the **** out of those who see things differently.

I hope that I am wrong and that all you trusting souls are right, I'll be happy to accept all the name calling in a few years time but at least consider that there may be something in what we are trying to warn about.
