Google employees given Google Nexus

Hmm a stick-out camera bit... HTC Bravo it is then. I really don't like the design of this phone, and that kind of tips it off for me. I'll reserve truue judgement until I see it in the flesh, but nothing about this excites me, especially when it's a lower spec than the bravo.

Personally I think I prefer black phones anyway - the Bravo looks pretty sweet, and with the fact that Blackberry have said they would never put another trackball on a phone again, I think I prefer the idea of the optical trackball as well. Having said that I've never personally had a trackball fail on me.

I've been following this phone quite intensely over the last few days as my contract is due to expire around the time of likely release. It looks to me that this will be exactly what I am looking for.

Good hands on testimonial here:

Rich: Am I right in saying that the Bravo is not scheduled for release for another 6 months or so? And is it only the HD video recording that is different spec wise or is there other stuff different too?

Software patents like this though are abit of a joke imo. The little "bounce" when you scroll to the bottom of a page on the iphone is patented aparantly. Its a misuse of the patent system really.

That little bounce is used by HTC as well, which confuses me a little as i'm sure they don't pay royalties to Apple...

The bounce is also used by the Pre, and was the matter of a lawsuit of Apple V Palm.

If it's £300 over here I'll get it, but not if it is any more! I should be able to get at least £200 for my Hero (unless it plummets in price when this is released) so it may not hurt too much!

Well if you consider what you might pay on an iPhone contract over 18/24 months at £35pm you will be saving money even if the phone is about £300. What's more, you're not locked into anything, you can pick and choose your tariff and if something amazing comes out in a year you can easily sell the nexus and upgrade. I will see what the reviews of the phone are - there are few things that they could conceivably balls up - but if it's generally positive I will get this I think...

£300 seems pretty optimistic?? It won't be a direct comparison to US price will it? I would have thought £400 would be realistic, although it's obviously guesswork at this stage

Ha, normally when things come over it's a straight conversion from $ to £ :p

If it's £300 Sim Free when it's launched in the UK, I'll buy one, then I'll eat it.

On engadget that supposed page for the nexus one listing it at $530 unlocked means by the time you take into account currency conversion (£335), then add on VAT (£60)and delivery charges you're looking at over £400, which will pretty much put it at the same price as a milestone/droid, maybe even the HD2 as often as not it ends up being straight US to UK conversions.

Personally I think it needs to be cheaper than that (even with its specs) as a comparably spec'd acer liquid A1 comes in at about £330, especially if they want to make a splash etc.

But then I suppose HTC will moan as they could lose money on their own products if it ends up being a cheaper version of their Bravo (it's basically the same phone)

I just saw, as has been stated, that it's $530 in the US. We all know how these things work so I fully expect it to be around £500 when it becomes available over here.

Less than £350 I'll get one (subject to proper reviews by non Google fanboi's)

Prepare to be blown away, maybe :p

We've had our hands on Google's Nexus One phone, but weren't allowed to take any pictures. This fellow, on the other hand, managed to capture his playtime in a crisp, clear video which blows away any previous blurry clips.

Heads up: There are a few not-so-safe-for-work seconds around the two minute mark. So you might want to skip over that if the boss is near (or if you don't enjoy Californication).

I think these ten minutes cover nearly the whole Nexus user interface and give a reasonable idea of what to expect when we finally get our very own gadgets to play with. Gorgeous! [via nowhereelse.fr—Thanks, Steve!]
