If you're happy to reset, then maybe flash a fresh factory image in case your installed one is corrupted?

I'll just try a reset first I think

Something else that happens recently is that email and app notifications don't come always come through in dribs and drabs anymore, most of the time they all come through together and my phone will freak out for a few seconds whilst it vibrates and tries to play several notification tones at once. Quite amusing sometimes. :D

My N5 did it after updating to M and my N6 does it too. Not every time, but I do see it without WiFi when picking it up sometimes.

Doesn't seem to be hurting my data use, so no idea how long it's actually off for. Might be a Doze thing.

Interesting, maybe a battery saving feature then.

Yeah maybe doze has gone mental

Yeah maybe doze has gone mental

Never knew about the Doze feature, but what I'm seeing seems to be it working as intended.

Doze

You won't see any benefit from Doze while your phone is in your pocket and you're working or at school. Things need to be idle, and that means really idle.
All Aps have to go through Google cloud servers and only high priority messages are allowed through in real time.

This doesn't mean you never get any notifications while your phone is idle. Google uses what they call an "Idle maintenance window" where they pick up any notifications that may be available in one big batch. Then your phone can quickly go back to sleep. This means Doze isn't really a substitute for any Do-Not-Disturb settings.

It could potentially cause issues if they haven't updated the app properly to suit doze. You can go into the battery menu > three dots at the top right > battery optimisation.

From there you can force apps not to be stuck with doze.

It will also be fairly easy to spot if the phone has been in doze from the battery graph, should be a pretty much horizontal line.

I've used an alarm app for years (Alarm Clock Plus). But recently it's been failing to go off. I figured out that it was always when i'd not plugged the phone in to charge while i was asleep that it wouldn't go off. Is this being caused by this new Doze feature?

Went to do a backup before I update to 6.0.1 and I'm getting a error in teamwin - can't mount storage. Anyone had this issue before?

Latest version of twrp? No issues here.

Not sure if doze works when on charge but try stopping the app being optimized, I mentioned how a little further up.

Since last minor update my phone has been flying. Anyone else ?

Not noticed it being any quicker but it has always felt fast across all MM builds (now 6.0.1).

Doze is disabled whilst charging so I does appear that is to blame.

Ordered a replacement N6 today, going to send this one back for a refund, will save time and hassle hopefully?

Motorola have so far been absolutely terrible for CS, they've lied to me on multiple occasions, take an age to respond via email if at all, so just a heads up if anyone is planning on using Motorola?
