Google Pixel 8/8 Pro & Pixel Watch 2

I guess they were designing the device during the height of covid, when it might have been slightly useful?

I'm still on the Pixel 6. This could be the first time I've kept a device through an upgrade cycle. Even now, I'm not sure I will bother with a Pixel 8? The 6 serves me just fine...

Having owned Samsung's latest flagship, and the one before that, and that etc.. I'm quietly looking forward to the 8Pro. Just to see how good it's cameras are. And if it really is coming with a flat screen, then that would be excellent.

I was surprised at how a hacked GCam app running on the S23U could out perform Samsung's own S23U camera app, even if the app was a bit clunky to use it still managed better pictures than Samsung's own.

Hello Apple!

Pixel 8 128GB €874 with 23% VAT
Pixel 8 256GB to €949

The Pixel 8 Pro 128Gb is rumored to launch at €1,235
The Pixel 8 Pro 256Gb 128Gb €1,309
The Pixel 8 Pro 512Gb 1,461

If these prices are true, then I'll add the Sony Xperia 5 V into my comparison (which seems to have a very good camera setup)

Seems steep.

I'm guessing 8pro will be £999 for the 128GB, £1100 256.... and 1300 for 512.

Looking forward to the Pixel 8 Pro - probably a day one purchase unless they hike the price too much. I've avoided the Pro line up until now due to the curved screen, let's hope the rumours of a flat screen are true!

Is it though?

What would make it better? It'd need to be a lot better to be worth more

If the s23u were better I'd have it already. I even chose the 6 Pro and returned the S22U as I just can't get on with Samsung bloat and the way they do things. Pixel can processing is also my cup of tea over Samsung's.

Horses for courses. They're all pretty even now. Just comes down to what you prefer.

my contracts is due in October so right on time...will be 8 or apple... most likely8...
wonder if it would be lighter from pixel 6..am not on s10+ and its so light and slim..not like pixel 6 :D

As much as I think the Pixel 8 will be good, I'm still learning towards an iPhone 15 Pro based on the rumours.
i have to say that iphones are fast.
was attending TdF last year with some mates.
one had i14max pro and I had my pixel6. my pixel was struggling in heat - 40degrees - and taking photos at quick rate, switching camera on and off
apple was fast as lighning...
thats one of reasons for me to think of the swap the systems for next 2 years,
