After serious deliberations, I've pulled the trigger on a XL Black 32GB from CPW for £399. When I sell my current Pixel I'll not be too much out of pocket.

The Pixel 2 XL seems like a helluva stretch price wise for what the upgrade is. At this rate, I might just buy the previous year's model every year if it's going to be half price with two year's warranty!

AND as has been pointed out over on the Pixel 2 thread XDA have released the APK's for the Pixel 2 Launcher, live wallpaper and camera app. I've just this evening installed them on my XL and they seem to be working a dream.

Are they easy to install? I'm assuming you didn't have to root or affect warranty in any way?

brand new, sending it back to get a sealed box I can then sell on ebay. Due to the issues I've had for months and months I feel well within my rights.

How would I know, is it an app download?

Nothing to download, I'm not sure if the app auto updated. Just load a picture in Google photos and you'll see the Lens symbol 3rd from the left. Just noticed I had it yesterday evening.

I've got it on mine, and it's failed to pick out brands other than an Audi. It did recognise Dreft as a detergent though
