Google shows off Android 3.0 - the 'Entirely for Tablet' Honeycomb

I only use my Tab on wifi and can tether it if needs be. I presume that we'll see it in March?

yeah i read somewhere that first it will be 3g only then a later wifi one, i did sadly read it would be more like April/May and i think it was a fairly reliable source - maybe android police or even engadget... however nothing has been confirmed so we can only hope...... i 100% dont want a contract on it that is for sure!

you gonna get one bud?

That comes out to around £500 which puts it into iPad (3G) territory. Hopefully it will be less when it arrives.
then most likely vat on top.

If it is that sort of price I'll wait a little longer as I think it's too expensive. I can buy a laptop/netbook for less that will last as long or longer and if I want 3g it's a cheap dongle for like 20-30 quid.
Motorola isn't Apple, they don't have the apple halo so it's not like they'll encourage people to them from the ipad at the same price.

No, I've got a Galaxy Tab (Christmas present) and I can't see myself changing until after the summer. Who knows what goodies will be on the market by then. The Tab is a lovely size, very portable and does what we need so it stays for the time being. I would be queuing up for the XOOM if it wasn't for the Tab.

Me neither. It seems people are trying to invent reasons for buying one.

Ah yes, those countless times when I want to watch a film in bed whilst holding a tablet, rather than watch said film on a 40" TV.

Can you take a 40" TV with you on the train to watch it during a commute? Oh...

im quite looking fwd to having one to use at the gym, it will fit perfect in the racks on the cross trainer, running machine, bike machine and rower (i measured) :D

sadly it does not fit on the stepper... which is great as the 6 steppers are always full of hotties toning butts

I'm liking the design of the back...very smart...spec show it's nice and light too

Hopefully this Galaxy Tab is priced properly the Xoom seems to be very expensive :(

Well Samsung have learnt that the original tab on release at $699 was far too high. Current prices are $399-$499 and it is selling fairly well.

So I can't see Samsung opting for a price higher than $599-$699 (unless better price competition happens, probably upper end). The Xoom at $799 is pretty crazy.

The ipad 32GB 3G is $729 for a comparison (16GB 3G is $629).

i agree, i doubt it will be any less than £500, im off to the deep south in June though, but i doubt i can wait that long!

i also heard the wifi only one would be coming a month or two after the 3g? but sounds like both are coming as one

HAsn't the xoom got a tampered UI?

It's going to be very hard choosing especially at launch.

Seeing as hardware is almost if not identical.

The things I want to know is.
Acessories (especially a keyboard which doubles as a case) and an unmolested Android Os that the company will keep brining out the updates for, in a timely fashion.

i know mate same here, my worry is the xoom for me looks better, but the new moto phone has a locked bootloader, so perhaps the xoom will? meaning the xda lot wont be able to customise it ?

is the xoom for me looks better?

?? They all look the same, maybe a 0.025mm more curve on the case. But then I don't understand when people say this phone looks better than the other. both have a 4" screen with a black cover and the same lay out and both within 1% the same case dimensions. So perhaps I just don't get looks at all.

I much prefer the back of the Samsung to the Xoom...FFS why doesn't the Samsung 10.1 have the same camera as the SGS2...1080P LOVELYNESS. Lack of HDMI and MicroUSB is very disappointing too.

I'm 50/50 on both backs in terms of design but theres just one thing on the samsung that really bugs me and thats the white text (CE0168 etc), why couldn't that have been a dark grey or even better hidden away.

Got to say my preference is still with the asus transformer if asus don't screw it up with some stupid skin and a locked bootloader...
