GoPro 3

As was said before, the Evans Cycles deal before Xmas was a bit of a fluke.

Most retailers have only just got stock of the new models after the initial low number before Xmas. As such, they are selling themselves, so don't need discounting.

The only way you are going to get money off them is if you have a discount from a shop somewhere, but it won't be much. For example, some of the large cycling retailers give you a discount based on how often you shop with them, along with money off vouchers if you spent so much during a certain month. Its also possible to get a small discount through some ski/snowboard shops who stock them by being a member of a national club, however, some may have exclusions on products like cameras though.

Ultimately what I'm trying to point out is that you aren't going to find much discount anywhere.
 
Got a Silver through a decent deal at Two Seasons.

Whats the best way to mount a GoPro for paintballing? I'm going for a stag doo and it would be nice to get some shots of the stag getting pummeled :D. I don't paintball much so don't want to spend loads on mounts, so a cheap effective solution would be nice. Also, wheres best to mount it? On the gun or on me somewhere?

The only mounts I have are those that come in the Silver pack, so nothing suitable really.
 
Chest or gun I'd say. The chest mount is ~£30 and a handle-bar mount which would work on the gun is less, probably around the £10 mark. I wouldn't bother with putting it on your helmet because it'll ruin your game (sticking out all the time) and will get quite easily directly splatted.

You might even be able to use the suction cup to mount it onto the lid of the hopper, just have to be careful not to knock it or you'll be losing balls all over the shop.

Gun is best though. Will always be looking in the right place when there's action (unlike your body which will be cowered behind some fence half the time).
 
I thought about the chest mount, but wont the view be obscured by my arms across my body holding the gun?

Handle bar mount on the barrel or somewhere else should work, I will see how much I can find that mount for.

I did Paintball a few years ago. Basically used the push bike helmet mount/strap attached to my wrist. Worked alright but the wide angle lens made everything so far away it was hard to see most stuff.

Not sure if it's 100% accurate but two of my friends bought the Silver editions and they bricked during a firmware update. They took them back to the store who gave one of them a replacement, updated the firmware and it also bricked. That was last week, today they both got calls to say the Silver had a known problem and was being pulled from the shelves. On the upside they got Black editions as replacements.

No idea how widespread this is, might just be the shop covering up incompetence or just an issue in NZ.
