Did you get stung on import duty Ross? How much savings did you make?
Rossk26, any chance you could post up a couple of links to some still images taken at max res? One in good light and one in not so good?
I'm trying to decide between this and a case for my rx100 for underwater, swimming pools, beach holidays etc. I know they're different animals, but I want to know if I can put up with the still image quality to get the portability and adaptability from the Hero 3.

Haven't been stung as of yet. It's currently worked out at £60 cheaper, but that could be eradicated if a bill lands at my door at a later date...
No problem at all, no doubt I will be playing with it tonight, and I'm going out tomorrow to use it as well. Will have images up at some point
The only negative thing I have heard so far is that the compatibility with the wifi app won't be fixed until December 14th...
There was some complaints about battery charging.
It will be really good to hear how you get on.

However it took only minutes to fully charge when I got the camera. And it says there is 2hours and 15 minutes on the display. I'm guessing this would be footage time not standby time?
Only niggly problem I have is the USB cable provided is tiny!! But a USB extension cable will resolve this

Yeah if it's the same as the Hero2 that is recording time. The batteries run out before you use up a decent size memory card anyway, so it's worth buying more. For example, using it on a days snowboarding I'll need 3 batteries on me.

Looking nice, how much would i get for my HD HERO if I were to sell it?
I got £140 on eBay, but after fees (paypal + eBay) I've walked away with £120.
Haven't got any at 4k as I was shooting at 720 and 1080 for the higher frames today. But here are some shot which were taken in the afternoon when the sun was starting to become very low!
What I'm most impressed with so far is the wifi remote (massive help!), the wind noise is reduce significantly from the previous versions. Still to try out a few features, but im eager to see what it's like at night with a small light for reference as I'm hoping to capture the northern lights with it in December when I go to Iceland

What would I use to upload them at full res? They are uploaded to my Photobucket account, but not sure if they reduce the res...
Here is one at low light
Need to get some editing software first. The new Black edition has a protune feature which is supposed to get the most out of the setting, but the videos looked washed out in raw format.
Will upload a couple when I get my hands on CS6

that low level light performance looks excellent for stillls, wonder if its any good for video?
They're coming into the forum at 1024*768, at 12mp they should be more like 4000*3000.
Not sure how to get one posted, any chance you could email the original of the exhaust pipe (email in trust).
