GoPro 3

Great video Booner! I enjoyed that :)

What was with the bit of the guy running away with the bottle of bear? It really made me laugh :D

Thanks!

I made a movie for my friend's 25th birthday, it was a surprise and involved getting everyone he knew to have a little part. He was getting a job in the police, so it was a Naked Gun style video and inspired by Beastie Boys - Sabotage music video too. So that was part of the chase scene.

Unfortunately due to the music used, Youtube won't let me upload and share it with my friends so trying to figure out a way round this :(

It's been available to pre-order since the 17th October. First shipments went out on 31st October in the US. I've had to order from the US as I needed my Hero3 before I go away on the 5th December and I thought the UK shipping date might be a bit late.

My estimated dispatch is 14th November. I can't wait!!!

Those slating the fact that it's 4k clearly don't know how cameras work. The only reason it's 4k is so they can get 120fps out of it at 720p. Resolution always drops with speed so you need to start higher to remain high. Nobody is suggesting you film any action at 4k.

The 4k is very useful for timelapses, least because you'll be able to crop into the image to correct alignments and also create artificial pans and tilts without degrading quality.

everything you're saying seems to be talking about high resolution sensors rather than high resolution video recording. There is no real use for 4K 15fps video. The strengths you describe come from being a 12MP sensor. The processing power for a 4K 15fps video is necessary to have the processing power for 720p 120fps, yes, but that doesn't mean the 4K is useful. Unless you see a use for 15 fps footage, and then 8K 7.5 fps footage, or 12K 5 fps footage. It's just unusable footage that acts as a headline feature.

If you're doing timelapses you use stills, not video. Unless you want to foot the bill for 2 hours of 4K footage worth of SD cards?

Just pretend it doesn't have 4k then?! It's still a great camera even if 4k is useless. GoPro doesn't even market the feature.

Mine (Hero 3 Black) just got despatched today :D

I know, I was saying that it sounded like Russinating was arguing that to do 720p 120 fps, it needed 4K 15fps, which just isn't true at all
