because I spent five years in England. Didn't like it. Too cold, too dull. :(

Australia might be more your style?
We have a whole variety of climates and are basically positioned to the south just as much as you lot are :)

I don't have a problem with you saying that - I can understand someone from a warm and sunny climate finding the UK too cold/dull in comparison :)

I hear it's very hard to get into that country to stay and live? I love Australia. But like I say I think it would be very hard to get in there.

Whats your job?

If your a tradie (Builder, plumber, electrician) you should be able to walk in.

No harm in trying :)

It's like owning a top of the line sports car for for three years. Then going back to a 1.4 Bakkie or car. Just isn't the same. :(

I work in a cell phone shop bru. :)

Hmmm, well we have a points system.
It might pay to check it out, different things add up so who knows :)
SA sounds too dangerous to live :(

Well it is. But if you've been brought up with it and know how to handle certain things and take the measures. Then it's fine. I still love it here. I have not regretted coming back ever since arriving back from the UK. Also found the girl of my dreams, got a lakker job. I couldn't be happier. :D

Nice analogy :) Every time I've considered getting a more sensible, cheaper to run car, after test driving it and realising how gutless it is, I can't bring myself to do it :p

Lol. I had to. :(

I own a BMW 525i. Such a lovely car to drive, so much fun. But she's gotta go. Now I'm riding a motorbike = fun.

Is it true that cars have flame shooting security things on cars down there?

Couldn't think of anything to say?

What's your problem? I went to the UK didn't like it, came back. Is that such a crime?

I can think of plenty to say... I'd be interested to hear how you're defining the UK/England as being dull?

Morning all,

I got a phone call from my beot last night, saying they've just been robbed at their work. I wasn't surprised by this fact as this is the second time his work has been robbed, by the same guys. He works at a video store, Block Busters.

Some guys came in there, pointed a guy to his head and asked for all the cash out of the tills. Obviously he just did as they asked. Then they went next door and robbed the Steers as well. It's a food take away place, make a lot of money on Wednesdays. As they have a special on those days.

In total they got away with around R13,000 and two customer's cars. :(

They guy who owns these stores is my boss at my work as well, this is the second time and the police are just useless. They arrived 10 minutes after it was reported in two cars and four cops got out with heavy machine guns. AK 47's I think and heavy chest protection.

Thing is, my Boss has now really got to take some security measures. As the place has no cameras and these guys know they can just get away with it!

My boet is okay though. :)

Thats sucks... hope they catch them

Stelly

Your crime levels are much worse than the UK's though.

This is true, but my gf (who lived in Jo'burg for 10 years) is more worried about the crime in this country because its too random and pointless (chavs kicking in an old man for fun etc.)

From what she has told me about the crime in SA is that its mainly tribal based so atleast you know why these crimes are happening. (because you are white/zulu etc..)

surely it's his choice. are you really offended by this?! the guy moved here, didnt like it, and moved back. he's allowed an opinion and doesn't have to justify it to you.
