Anyways sorry to hear about the robbery, not a nice thing to happen. I know SA can be very dangerous but ive never had any major probs when ive been there on 3 separate ocassions. Lovely country though.

We were burgled this morning. Some ***** scum forced the back door (which is being replaced with something altogether heavier on Monday) and took one item of value - my friend's compound bow for archery. It's worth about a grand all told. No idea how they did it without waking one of us. The police have been round, not sure how much they'll be able to do though. They were sped up a bit when we told them it was a potentially lethal item though.
 
Sounds harsh, and not the sort of place i would want to live as i would probably do something stupid.......

Can't the stores get anith hijack devices like some cars over there are fitted with; something like a pneumatic bar that comes out from the counter and breaks their legs in two, or a counter mounted flame thrower ?

That'l teach em :D

best way of dealing with these kind of incidents.

SA makes a 12 guage pistol too.

To any prospective insulted types, I've grown up with deformed hands, I know name calling - through being different - all to well.
Kids & teachers could be so very cruel. - If they thought it bothered you. ;)

I'm sorry if I've offended anyone who loves their country and can't stand the fact that someone else might not like it as much.

You see guys, the law is so stuffed up here. Now say this is the situation:

I'm stopped at a robot, waiting for the green light. Next thing I know, a guy is trying to hijack me, and I decide, no I'm not going to let this happen. Now say I kick his head in or even worse I shoot the **** in the chest and call the police. Saying I've just shot an armed hijacker who was going to shoot me and hijack me. Obviously there are tons of people about who saw and can verify my story. The police will take him to hospital and arrest me for attempted murder!

That's why we can't really fight back.

Do you know if a cop shoots a suspect in the back, the head, or anywhere where he wasn't facing you directly. That cop can expect to be in big trouble and maybe be hold up for attempted or even murder. Regardly of the situation. The law in this country does suck, I'll admit that. :(

We have the same laws in this country, as soon as a cop shoots someone in this country then that cop is put under investigation for manslaughter, you cant kill even for self protection
 
Here, if a cop shoots the guy in chest or leg, then they won't even question him as to why he shot the guy. But shoot him in the back, head or kill him, then all hell breaks loose! :mad:

Thing is, they don't understand that you can only shoot him in the back if he's running from you after he's just hijacked oe killed someone else. Of course you're going to shoot back and try injure or kill the **** :mad:

The only way a cop will get away with killing someone here is if they find bullets or marks in the area where the suspect fired back at the cop.
 
Again here if a cop shoots someone with the purpose of injuring and not killing then the cop can be sued, arrested all sorts, gotta shoot to kill here even then the next few weeks will be hell for that cop
