Gran Turismo PSP

Well thats a pain, means I can't play my old PS1 games on mine any more then I guess.... Although the main one is Gran Turismo 1.. which will be kinda obsolete with the PSP version. lol.

Guess that means I won't be able to play my old megadrive games too :/

(I actually have no idea how the cracking/firmware stuff works. I bought mine with it on knowing I'd be able to play sonic which I DO have a legit copy of!)

It is a pity we can't talk about that subject on these forums, old skool games are great :).

Better keep it on topic.

I am really looking forward to this game, the ps1 version was great (and the only version i have played).

edit,

Having read there is no career mode i don't think i'll rush out to buy it.

Not bril review scores but not too bad either BUT ill judge it for myself reviews arent always accurate e.g. GTA4 everyone raved me personally thought meh :P

iffy review - would have bought a psp go for it IF it had been good , but no career mode, Im sorry but thats idiotic not to include imo and the whole point of past GT games

I will now wait and see what you lot think - but Ive gone off paying £200+ for this game without a career (and no car upgrades)

Not sounding great tbh:( Will still get it (got it on pre-order for only £17.99), but not as excited now...

Added some of the reviews to the first post. Not all negative!

Im not so worried about the career mode.
Personally i would only play the game in 30mins - 1 hr dosses at a time.
I dont like the ommissions of no leaderboards, no online play and no ghost downloads. Ah man really that sucks ass.

I found having only 4 cars an issue for single player enjoyment but now with no online options gees this makes this game very limited no matter how nice it looks on a PSP or plays.

Although im sure the game would be at its best with a friend or two in adhoc.
A great technical showpiece limited by underachieving longterm gameplay perhaps?

I dont feel the need now to rush and get this, maybe later but its now off my radar.

4-5 years for this crap? Quite frankly they should be ashamed, glad I sold my PSP ages ago. This lacks so much, no online MP - WTF? 4 Cars on the track? Dated GT physics, no career mode? Seriously what have they been doing for all of this time? It's like Sony asked for a rushed version of GT and that's what we've got. Totally disappointed.

The only redeeming feature I can see so far, is that early reports said any cars earnt in GT PSP can be Transferred to GT5, is this definitely the case? If not, I might be skipping the reason I bought a PSP...

Not heard any mention of that being confirmed yet...

dosent sound that good TBH. Im not going to buy it on release now and will wait to pick it up for a fiver like I did with God of war.

Really dissapointed. I would rather have half the cars and a full career mode. :-(

Its in on the psp side of things so its a case of waitng for GT5 to show up. The lack of career mode was known for a while but the other negatives like how cars are collected has stuck this into the bargain bin for me.

Secondly, the game will allow you to transfer your garage to Gran Turismo 5 on the PlayStation 3 once it's out. Obviously I can't really test this yet as GT5 is unfortunately not out yet, but it sounds like it'll be a painless transfer. I have my own personal feelings about this in that I think it'll essentially break your GT5 experience (I don't want to start my game with the 250+mph Bugatti Veyron I recently purchased), but the option is there for those who want to take advantage of it.

You can use it now if you setup a Jap account and download the application. I've used it to play phantasy star and monster hunter 2 just fine and with voice comms through the ps3.

dissapointed with the reviews, although I'd still like to try this to make my own mind up, so will wait for it hit budget price before taking another look.

The lack of career mode is a real let down for a hand held..... Honestly, does anyone now start to think that the GT games are really getting old hat now? I was impressed by the eye candy videos and screenshots, but reading the review, its making me wonder if GT 5 on the PS3 will be any good, if it turns up at all..

GT5 prologue wasn't all that special, although, fairs fair... It was just an extended demo of what is to come...

Who knows, but PSP GT - think I'll now give it a miss until its cheap as chips, and get NFS shift for PS3 instead..

This was the major reason for me buying a Jap PSP when they were first released. That has long since been sold, but for a couple of hours yesterday I was planning to buy a PSP Go. Seeing that there is no career mode, I think I'll now save my money.
