Spent an hour just watching the in game tv this morning

Dissapointed the Ricky Gervais stuff isnt new material, but still good stuff

The adverts make it though, amazing. had me in tears some of them. And the Poker tournament "When you lose Poker live on TV, well, lifes the pits"

I thought this was a glitch at first but now it's happened a few times. When police officers try and open your door I just drove off and they usually get there hand/sleeve stuck and get dragged along to my merry amusement bouncing around like ragdolls.
 
Well. I got my copy from work yesterday and had an hour or so doing the first set of missions and generaly taking in the sights and sounds, getting my bearings.

Got invited to a free roam with some work mates. Had a great laugh in that.

My impressions so far:

Story looks and sounds compelling. Its in great detail and seems to be like a movie. The intro was super.

Good gfx. Moody and dirty. Shading and reflections are top. Im my eyes anyway. All good.

The little things are what makes this game for me. Getting driven around by your mate whilst hanging out the car, boat whatever, shooting away. Being chased by cops. Crashing, rolling the car. Awsome.

I loved the way I saw a ped get his mobile out to call the cops. Also, if you comit a crime and you see loads of peds running away in a group chase them in a car and use your handbrake as your just behind the group and your car back end will swing out and smash the group and you can see the bodies being knocked and flying around everywhere. QUALITY..

Top game.
 
I was watching Videos of this today and i was amazed at how good it looks and why they havnt banned it down here yet:D

I want it so bad but i dont have a PS3 and i dont want to get one until the 80 gig one is out in june:(

I might by the game inb the near future tto make sure i get it in case it gets banned down here:p
 
YAY! i just bought a 360 :D

i just cant be bothered waiting for the PC version of GTA

got PGR4 and Vegas 2 as well, but i cant see me playing them for a good while :)
 
I'm sure in the first trailer i saw a working rollercoaster in the game, however the one in the game is closed down, does it get opened later on in the game so we can ride it or not?

Not sure why, maybe its the improvement in the graphics and physics and personalities of the people that have taken the fun away from blasting everyone in site into oblivion for me. Moral consequence instilled in a game that has traditionally been fun for not having any. :(

I know what you mean. The previous GTAs were somewhat cartoon like which I consider a good thing, they were larger than life and the violence was Tom & Jerry style if you like. I can see how more realistic graphics and characters would detract from the previous fun experience.
 
I'm no doubt going to get taken down for this... but the graphics are really quite bad! Too much DoF & Bloom... I spend half my time squinting a bit to try and make things a bit sharper, and the other half adjusting the contrast & brightness of my TV depending on the time of day in game.

Before I get shot down in flames, take a minute to compare the gfx to Burnout Paradise! The only difference with GTA is you have a dude who can get out of the car and walk around... If the makers of Burnout used their engine to do a GTA esque game ppl would mess their trousers!

Apart from the GFX, the gravity feels a bit moon like, or the cars aren't heavy enough. I was driving a big 4x4, not going fast and I practically flew over a hill and hit the 2nd story of a building at the end of the road. This has changed the way I drive, in Vice City I use to really floor the cars and enjoy the recklessness of my driving, I find myself doing more cruising in GTA IV... which let's be honest is boring!!
 
don't worry, i agree, cannot stand this version of GTA, for me the worst of the lot, has the odd thing that makes you laugh but just find the whole thing dark and depressing

The graphics are bad??

GO and buy a 2nd hand copy of GTA:SA and compare...


The graphics are not the best seen, but the sheer scale of the city and the amount of details put into it, they are sodding amazing..

Some people are not happy unless they are picking faults with things :p





Had another hour on it this morning, done a few missions, thinking of putting Michelle out of her misery to be honest, might save me some money :p
 
Hi guys I installed this game last night....it literally pauses for abuot 2-3 seconds...the fps completely stops.

For example im driving a car I turn a corner..pause. (wait 2-3 seconds) then its resumes... :confused:

The audio is fine and keeps playing? anyone else experience this? am i doing something wrong?

I have devil may cry 4 and it plays smoothly fine. :(
 
Some of the nit picking makes a good read in this thread :p

GTA was never about graphics :)

yeah it is getting a bit deep


the other thing i dont like is the driving camera, same problem as GTA SA, you turn sharp and the camera is still looking where you were going, doesnt keep up with the car.

Mines crashed twice when I've left the game either paused on the menu screen or just left it idle whilst I've gone off to eat, it's not crashed whilst I've been playing though.
